Before watching this movie, I regarded it as an inspirational film and a comedy film to match the festive atmosphere at the end of the year. After watching it, I don’t know why I should classify it. I think it’s right to choose to watch this movie on the last day of this year, because it gives me an unexpected feeling about life.
Florence Foster Jenkins is by no means a particularly difficult character for Streep. I say this because I think Mrs. Florence's performance is consistent and unchanged. The lines of the whole play are also very clear, and all the plots revolve around this lady. However, the motives and behaviors of the other characters are complicated. In contrast, the lady herself is the simplest. Before watching the movie, some people commented that this movie is about a lady's relatives and friends weaving beautiful lies together to coax a rich second generation who can be willful but never give up pursuing ideals. After watching it, I feel that I still have to go to see the movie I like in person to have a unique experience, and I can't believe in film reviews. In my opinion, it tells about the multiple forms of love, the compromise of ideals with reality, and people's strong desire for happiness under the tragic social background, the value of ideals and the daydreams that never give up-all these emotions Both are complicated, and both are expressed by integrating two or more opposing emotions in one event. A simple story like a Lunar New Year movie that can show such rich levels is really a wonderful gift I give to my soul in the New Year.
