Crying game

A good film, intriguing.
It is actually not appropriate to call it the "Top Ten Gay Americans" movie. Homosexuality is not deliberately expressed by the director. For Fergus, encountering it is an accident and destiny.
Relative to being a member of the Northern Irish Republican Army organization, Fergus lacks decisive and staunch "revolutionary fighting spirit", and feels lost and helpless about killing and war in his heart. Guarding Jodi, generating compassion, goodwill and friendship, is just the beginning of discovering oneself and facing reality. What is unavoidable and unchangeable in the faintness is "It's Nature", the true desire and expectation of life in the heart. Fergus's actors are ordinary and friendly, and interact well with Deere's several scenes in the bar: the protagonist is attracted by another person, it seems no exaggeration, but you really feel it. .. This is how the "love scenes" of domestic films often cannot be done.
Deere is a transsexual homosexual, missed and admired by the dead Jody, after Fergus appeared, the two became in love with each other. This actor is really charming, no matter whether she does a feminine makeup or a handsome boy after cutting her hair, it does not make people feel twisted and disgusting, although the real shot of the real body is really shocking (I and Fergus in the film Same, physical discomfort appeared almost all of a sudden!)...All the infatuation, strength, fragility, sensitivity, loneliness, and tears may not only belong to women? But they are all "poor people" who are waiting for love and asking for hope...whether it is him or her? An impressive scene: Dill was walking around the room with a gun, and said to Fergus who was struggling on the bed (also talking to himself): ...I like people who are good to me; treat me better, I’m yours...Don’t beat Dill, she will be moved; treat her well, and she will always be yours...
Gad is the girlfriend of the Fergus Republican Army, loyal and fanatical to the organization, and this actor is also The performance is very good, and the stage has a strong sense of hierarchy. The scenes that seduce Jodi at the first appearance are vulgar and attractive; while guarding Jodi, although they are dressed casually, the feminine revolutionary temperament and good facial features are very touching; the final appearance is like thirty or forty. OFFICE women in Hollywood movies of the era forced Fergus to carry out terrorist assassination activities. The women who attempted to be too strong, the hideous air revealed by their faces made people feel strange and uncomfortable...
The color of the film is not particularly tragic, even Jody, who died under the tank, always smiled knowingly in Fergus’ dreams...At the end, Fergus goes to jail, and Dill visits and waits...Fergus Telling the story of the scorpion and the frog... it makes people feel warm and hopeful, because they are alive, because they know "It's Nature", because of Deere's true love, right?
Seeing someone commented that this ending is inconsistent with the film’s realistic style, I don’t think it. In the past, it was often believed that tragedy was the most powerful, but now I don’t look at it that way. The real life is often that a happy reunion and too miserable are rare. Pain and hope are the true colors of most lives. There is also a comment that all that Fergus has done after knowing Dill's true sex is just a sense of guilt, not love. Actually, who knows? The director didn't say the future, but after all this, we can't decide Fergus' heart, he knows it himself!
