Before the lofty ambitions

Saw the "AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN" in the corner. This is one of the more famous films in the early works of Richard Gere. Get home and take a closer look at the jacket "85 Years' Best Supporting Actor Award." Oh my god, that's old enough!
The story of a youth film in the 1980s is very simple. After graduating from university, a young man joined the Navy. As a noncommissioned officer, he had to complete 13 weeks of training before he could formally advance and become an officer. During this period, he and his friends experienced the training of discipline, courage, responsibility, friendship, and of course the growth of love, even facing death, and finally became a naval officer. At the end, the devil instructor faced the new students and began his constant provocations, ridicules and threats.
After reading it, I suddenly realized, oh, it was like this before High Aspiration. "TOP GUN" is the starting point of Tom's Cotai Strip and one of my favorite movies. At the beginning of that film, "Mavericks" is already a lieutenant jet pilot, and Richard's next target is the jet pilot. I think of the original "Mavericks" changing from a rookie to an officer before the "High Aspiration". The two films have completed the description of the growth of a naval pilot, but for the two actors, the meaning is completely different. Contrary to the soup, Keir was silent for a while after "The Officer and the Gentleman".
In addition to the above, I finally saw Deborah Gwen's youthful lady in this movie! Very matte and vigorous, the actresses of that era have a kind of healthy beauty.
The ending of the film is quite fairy tale. Keir, wearing the most handsome white navy dress, walks through the workshop of the paper factory, walks towards the heroine, and walks with her to the sunshine outside... ...
I say so because in that small town, almost all the women work in that country's paper factory. Except for the naval base, that place was very dilapidated. The dream of all pretty women is to marry a non-commissioned student and leave that small place. This is true from the heroine and her mother to friends. And the film makes the heroine who insists on true love instead of "trick" get the final success. Although the cliché ending makes the film more commercial, I still like the ending. After all, it is better to believe in fairy tales than not to have them!

An Officer and a Gentleman quotes

  • Foley: [second part of his first cadence, for Zack and the other OC's] Family of gooks are sitting in the ditch; Little baby sucking on his mama's tit; Chemical firms don't give a shit; That napalm sticks to kids!

  • Foley: [his second cadence, for Zack alone] Casey Jones was a sonofabitch; Drove his train through a 30 foot ditch; Came on out with his dick in his hand; Said "Listen ladies, I'm a hell of a man!"; Went into town and lined up a hundred; Swore up and down he'd fuck every one; Fucked 98 'til his balls turned blue; Then he backed off, jacked off, and fucked the other two!

    [TV edit of same]

Foley: Jack Armstrong was a son-of-a-gun; Hitchhiked to Vegas in the summer sun; Hit the tables, won 73 grand; Said "Check it out, girls, I'm the man!"; Went out for dinner and treated a hundred; Swore on his life he'd kiss every one; Kissed 98, then his lips were blue; So he caught his wind before he kissed the last two!
