Hardy thought it was Ramanujan's point that he didn't tell him the popular religious concepts and disturbed his "mathematics world." So, is this a movie that caters to Indian religious ideas? The ending subtitles preach: The society is completely different from Ramanujan's talent, and it is still so indifferent after his death. Relatives, including his parents, refused to attend his funeral because he had crossed the sea. In the eyes of others, this compares with his fruitful results, which is heartbreaking. In fact, this is not the case. This is exactly what Ramanujan agrees with, because he is also such a person who is addicted to religion. From another perspective, let us think about it. The Indian environment is the stifling of genius, and it may be the same to cultivate genius. Therefore, this is not just a film made for Indians, but also a film that asks questions about religion and society.
Besides his mathematics, his mathematics is what he has sought in his life, and it is the most beautiful thing he thinks. Even other mathematicians, Hardy has to spend time in social and sports, Listro will also pursue fame and politics, and he only has mathematics. Maybe, this is the real genius, because he likes pure science.
The movie reminds me of a question. Why are some senior intellectuals more religious than ordinary people when they believe in religion? Da Vinci is like this, Newton is like this, and so is Boyle. Is it possible that materialism is the real dominance theory? Is materialism an incomplete understanding of the world? Is it even possible that matter is something that exists above the spirit? It sounds incredible, but it is possible.
