Soldiers are humans, not machines! Never tire of classics

"Soldier" is a science fiction movie that I like very much.

The film tells a group of fighters from the future world who have undergone rigorous screening at birth and received cruel war training. There is no so-called personal identity or personality. They are completely isolated from the social family and have been implanted with chips since they were young. They only follow the only principle: either you die or I die. These selected future fighters must abide by the so-called "survival rules" of the U.S. military: Absolutely obey orders, cannot question the chief, must have the determination to win, force to defeat knowledge, eliminate all enemies, must rush to kill, cannot be merciful, and softhearted equals death. .

The male protagonist Todd is a top soldier who has fought in many galaxy battles. He has been subjected to strict military baptism since he was a child, and the meaning of survival is only for combat. After many tragic battles, he still stands tall, which can be said to be the best testimony of Darwin's "natural selection". But Todd, who has never been defeated, will finally face the doomsday.

The fast-changing technology has trained a group of new future fighters, their combat skills are sophisticated and proficient; their physical abilities are unmatched; their killing methods are even more cruel. In order to test the excellent combat abilities of the next generation of fighters, the government held a competitive competition for Todd and two other soldiers to fight against the new soldier No. 607 Kane. Sure enough, the new devil training method allowed Kane to attack. K, two soldiers died tragically, only Todd escaped, but he was also scarred and dying.

After he was defeated, he was treated as waste by the government and discarded on a distant planet, where people and things were forgotten because of technological progress. The inhabitants of the planet took great care to heal him, and he also began to learn everything in daily life, slowly discovering his humanity, and knew that in addition to charging and fighting the enemy, there are many beautiful experiences in life. As he gradually got used to the new life, soldier No. 607 was ordered by the government to lead his soldiers to destroy the planet. Todd was forced to fight again, and the inhabitants of the planet eventually defeated Warrior No. 607, seized the spacecraft, and left the abandoned planet.

The film describes the process of Todd's gradual transformation from a murderous machine without emotion to a hero who even knows love. Many lenses are quite classic. One thing that impressed me was that Todd kept his eyes open from defeat to being abandoned on the abandoned planet, unable to see the content, the kind of confusion and despair, which is unforgettable. One is that Todd's tears and the shock when he found himself crying are unforgettable after Todd was once again abandoned by the residents because of his misunderstanding because of his bad expression. Only then did he realize that he was also a human being with emotions.

I also like the Hollywood-style triumphant ending of the film. Todd is holding the child and looking into the distance. The future is endless! I really hope to see the sequel.

Soldier quotes

  • Church: My daddy always said, "When you want to insert a nail into a piece of wood, don't do anything fancy or glamorous. Just take the damn hammer and hit the son of a bitch until it's in."

Colonel Mekum: And what the hell does that crap mean in English, Captain?

  • Sandra: How do you know they'll be back?

Todd: Because they're soldiers, Sir. Like me.

Sandra: Why are they doing this?

Todd: They're obeying orders, Sir. It's their duty.

Sandra: Do you know how many there will be?

    Todd: Seventeen more, Sir.

Sandra: Oh my God, you can't fight seventeen more on your own, you have to organize us. We're not cowards, we'll do as you tell us, we'll fight.

    Todd: No.

    Sandra: Why not?

    Todd: Soldiers deserve soldiers, Sir.

Sandra: But one soldier, against seventeen. What are you going to do?

Todd: I'm going to kill them all, Sir.
