Political points in the movie

This film review is mainly about the questions I have raised during the filming process.
This film uses the bill as a clue. The heroine Xinni represents the GDC environmental protection organization to promote the passage of the 20% emission reduction bill, and the White House promotes the passage of the anti-crime bill. The background is set in the early stage of the presidential re-election election.
There are some knowledge points that need to be paid attention to in American politics as follows.
The State of the Union Address is an annual speech delivered by the President in Congress. The State of the Union address (English: State of the Union address) is a report delivered by the President of the United States every year at the joint meeting of the United States Congress in the lobby of the House of Representatives in the United States Capitol. This report does not only include an analysis of the national conditions, the president will also explain his legislative agenda and national priorities to the US Congress in the report.
Before each State of the Union address is published, there is an official invitation to the president. The U.S. House of Representatives security officer will solemnly announce that the President will be present. Then, the President will enter the conference hall, and everyone will stand up and applaud warmly.
Sitting in the front of the hall are the Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States and members of the President's Cabinet. Usually, there is a cabinet member (designated survivor) who will not participate, so that when the president, vice president, and other officials gathered in the House of Representatives are facing disaster, they can succeed to the presidency in the order of succession of the president of the United States. In addition, since the 9/11 attacks, some members of parliament have been asked to go to secret locations during the speeches.
The Speaker of the Senate (Vice President) and the Speaker of the House of Representatives sat behind the President. When the State of the Union Address was delivered this year, Joseph Biden and John Andrew Bonner sat behind the President. Perhaps because of a lot of applause from the audience, the State of the Union speech usually lasts about an hour. Most of these applauses have obvious political colors, and a large part of the applause in the speech comes from the president's own political party. As non-political officials, members of the Supreme Court and the Joint Chiefs of Staff rarely applaud in order to maintain political neutrality.

Why is the party of the President of the United States not the majority party? The two-party system in the United States and the United Kingdom is different. The United Kingdom practices essentially "party politics." The ruling party controls both the parliament and the government, and can often obtain the greatest benefits from the coordination of the two. However, the ruling party under the separation of powers in the United States may not be able to obtain a majority of seats in the parliament. In this way, the powers of the President and Congress are mutually restricted. Regarding the election of congressmen is conducted independently by each state, similar to the election of the president, candidates win votes through speeches and become congressmen. It is uncertain which side the elected congressmen are politically inclined. So we can see in the picture above that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bona, is a Republican. The Speaker of the House of Representatives is elected by the House of Representatives. Of course, the majority party in the House of Representatives will naturally be elected as Speaker. Therefore, the minority leader in the House of Representatives is of course the supreme leader, but the supreme leader of the majority party is the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

How were the scenes involving the White House office in the film shot? Just build one! In the past, Hollywood would set up some popular scenes for filming, but later this was not the case. It's not expensive anyway! For example, in "White House Down", the entire White House is blown up. This is achieved by setting up scenes and finding suitable locations.

The American President quotes

  • [Ushering Sydney out of the White House after spending her first night there]

President Andrew Shepherd: I'm sorry about this. We'll do it better next time.

Sydney Ellen Wade: Well, I'm no expert, but I think we did it pretty good this time.

  • Lewis Rothschild: [in his bedroom] Can I just state very clearly I can't be part of anything illegal.

    A.J.: Good for you, Lewis.

Lewis Rothschild: Say what you want. It's always the guy in my job that ends up doing 18 months in Danbury minimum security prison.
