Every picture strives for perfection. I don't know if Terrence Malick is a perfectionist or an idealist. I learned about him from the newspaper: a less prolific director, a mundane director, can add his films to the collection, so that you can enjoy them slowly in the future.
There is a castle standing in the endless waves of wheat. I am very mentally thinking about how to use water and electricity, and I unkindly think of the "naked marriage age" as I watched it.
In the film, I think life is gone in the United States, and disappeared in China. It is an era where more communication is through the Internet, but there are fewer friends around. Although many people yearn for such a sloppy life, they are no longer used to it.
There is another gain. I saw Richard Gere's youthful appearance. The nose is not very red.
