Heaven day

This movie is certainly not a narrative movie, and it feels more expressionistic in form. Of course, I am not too impressed with this kind of movie, so let me just talk about it. Watching the whole movie, the longest stay in my mind is the farm scenery shown in the movie. The movie scenes are more concentrated outside the farm, and the indoor scene does not take up too much space. It can be seen that the director loves the outdoor scenery of the farm. Now, that's why there will be a poetic scene. The picture in the movie also has its metaphor. For example, the small seedlings that secretly grow in the cracks of the soil not only mean the arrival of the growing season of the farm, but also seem to tell the audience that Abby and Bill have a happy day when they have nothing to worry about. There is also a fire. Farm hired workers play around the fire, chat, and spend a short leisure time. Excessively tired, physically and mentally exhausted, it seems that when the soul is out of the body, it is also around the fire. Not to mention the fire caused by the killing of locusts in the second half of the film. Abby’s deception and betrayal of the farmer and the disaster brought by the locusts caused the farmer to get an emotional outburst in the fire, but just like the fire can’t eliminate the locusts. However, the farmer’s accusation of Abby alone could not eliminate the source of the anger, so he ended up in a confrontation with Bill the next day. Bill is not a day without paradise. His day in paradise can be the day of wandering around before planning, but his desires are swollen, and the food and clothing obtained by deception is like a soap bubble without a poke. After the brief color is full, it will be Destroyed by itself.

Days of Heaven quotes

  • Linda: Are we gonna stay?

    Bill: If she wants to.

    Linda: You'd rather go?

Bill: I'd rather be the King of Siam.

  • Linda: He was tired of livin' like the rest of them - nosin' around like a pig in a gutter. He wasn't in the mood no more. He figured there must be somethin' wrong with 'em - the way they always got no luck - and they oughta get it straightened out. He figured some people need more than they got, other people got more than they need. Just a matter of gettin' us all together.
