Watch this movie with poetic eyes

Just like the beginning, the end is poetic; we don't know who the heroine is leaving with. A clear beginning, a hazy ending. I can only say that the director is too good! From the beginning to the end of the film, the aesthetic style is refreshing; the images of wind, wheat fields, castles, grasslands, rivers, woods, dusk... these images are just like wonderful places in life; just like the hazy feeling of love, these things are indescribable.

The film's narrative technique is like an elderly old man telling a story, plain and calm. The child's narration, the little girl's perspective is like a piece of white paper, and the story is laid out. The film began to seem to explain their relationship, but it was not a couple, but a sibling. After marrying the farmer, it was a small climax. Is it a play? Is it true? Indescribable. In fact, there is no lack of such ambiguities in life, just being close and distant, just like the little girl said: There are never perfect people in this world. Half of them live with demons and half with angels.

In short, this is a good movie to watch after calming down

The whole film creates an aesthetic sense of form through the natural light photography of the "magic moment". It feels like an Impressionist and Miller painting. Malick obtained a poetic or even divine quality from the depiction of the outside world such as machines and animals. The fire at the end is like the "Ten Commandments" from God. It is also the anger of the farmer, and more importantly, following the strong lust, to the abyss of despair and destruction.

Not bad, but I can’t agree with Bill’s behavior as a female

Days of Heaven quotes

  • Linda: We seen trees that the leaves are shakin' - and it looks like shadows of guys comin' at you and stuff. We heard owls squawkin' away, hootin' away. We didn't know where we were goin', what we were gonna do.

  • Linda's Friend: His name was Edward. He was nice. I liked him. I don't know. He said he was gonna buy me a fu'r. I always wanted a fu'r.

    Linda: Where ya goin'?

Linda's Friend: For a walk. I don't know where, but - go - go beat the heck out of some tree or somethin'. Take it out on them. You comin' with me or what?
