Gorgeous CG shines again

The first news that the game Final Fantasy 7 is about to launch a sequel movie should go back to 2003. Since then, FF7 players have been eagerly looking forward to it. On the way, everyone has downloaded a lot of exposure pictures from magazines, and trailers exhibited in various exhibitions (the quality is uneven, gun versions are available) ...). Finally, after bouncing tickets time and time again, in September this year, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children finally appeared in the frenzy of waiting for cramps in your necks.

From the very beginning, its production company SquareEnix has made it clear that this will be a fan-oriented work, which is tantamount to indirectly admitting that the characteristics of this movie will be-selling familiar faces and selling CG. New students who have never played the game are usually surprised at the beauty of the characters, the dazzling of the screen, and the haze of the plot while watching. The whole flow is almost "a few lines-Motor Speed" !-Come on again-The motorcycle is here again!-Still on the line-Let's fight!-Still on the line-Ah~ There are monsters!... "Like this, it is indeed a bit numb... But! For the fans of FF7, the significance of this film is not only not to be underestimated, but also huge and profound.

Let's start with the male protagonist who gathers thousands of eyes. Our little blonde hedgehog Cloud is still so sensitive and withdrawn in AC. After completing the feat of saving the world with a group of good partners two years ago, he still can't solve the knot in his happiness (or is there another heavy burden in his heart? ) And left alone, and at the same time unfortunately became a member of the "Starscar Syndrome". When Tifa and the orphan Marlen were quietly taking care of Denzel in the seventh heaven, he kept the warm group photo in Tifa, and went to the church silently, with only a small box and a little medical treatment. Supplies, licking wounds alone in the peaceful sunshine, flowers, and spring water. But even so, peaceful days will not last long. Cloud reluctantly was pulled out by the silver-haired trio and Shinrolla again to fight, and met Sephiroth again. Of course, there is something to be grateful for during the battle. In the whole film, our male protagonist student was almost unharmed except for being beaten up with a pair of sunglasses. In the end, even the arm was healed. When everyone cheered and leaped into a ball at the end, Cloud finally kept his eyes open and smiled brightly like the moon.

When it comes to female characters, I have to say that AC has brought Tifa's popularity to a whole new level. In FF7, the fans of Tifa and Aerith can be said to support half of the sky, and the two factions do not give in to each other. But in AC, overall Tifa's limelight still surpassed Aerith with Hisaka Maaya's support. One of the reasons may still be related to the ending of FF7: the dead Aerith theory cannot of course be compared with Tifa who stayed with Cloud; but the second reason-the character image is the killer of Tifa's sister. I don't know how many people fell under her black leather skirt because of her beautiful face and figure in AC. Indeed, from the beginning of the fight, I saw her big eyes blinking and blinking, long eyelashes, supple black hair, and a switch between several expressions... The goddess's brilliance instantly enveloped the entire room ~ and then I walked with Marlene. When I go to the church, I lower my head, raise my head, face sideways, smile, and walk a few steps. The black clothes for fighting are so harmonious in the church where the flowers are blooming and gentle. Throughout the film, Tifa's face is always that beautiful. But at the end of the happy ending, Tifa's smile at Cloud, who was still soaking in the spring water, could be said to have a profound meaning... and the audience in front of the screen should be both fascinated and stunned.

The other heroine, Aerith, was completely deified with Zack. Every appearance is accompanied by light and echo, and even the sound of the sound is not seen at all. It is completely the feeling of a Bodhisattva guiding sentient beings in the air. Especially when fighting against the big monster of Bahamut, I thought that Tifa would be the last person to help the "Cloud Stunning Stage Jump", but unexpectedly, a cloud of liquid (crystal?) suddenly appeared in the air. Cloud's power also spoke a few words gently, which made people sigh for its supremacy from abstract to concrete. And she and Zack smiled at the entrance of the church with milky white light and turned away. The holy smile and the proper slow motion processing of the film definitely make people have the urge to worship immediately...

Inside the villain, the silver-haired trio Kadaj's head is neurotic and slender, arrogant but also easy to fall into a painful mental state, and there is also a certain degree of motherhood (if Jeova's head can also take the responsibility of a mother) . The other two are Loz, a sturdy man with a brave and rugged appearance, but with a fragile heart like glass. The other is Yazoo, a handsome young man with long hair and so cool that there are almost no lines or even shots. So, in the end, everyone's eyes naturally (Fans' eyes are always) focused on the god-like Boss character Sephiroth. And he did not live up to everyone's expectations. From the beginning of the classic scene of "flying white hair and raging flames", he firmly occupied a corner of the audience's hearts. The still uninhibited and arrogant eyes made the new classmate scream: "Wow~ such a stylish man~!", and also made the old player sigh with emotion: "Hey~ it's still the same as dead...". But what I have to admit is that when he stared at Cloud contemptuously, the cool blond male protagonist who played for an hour immediately became a Zhengtai~Boss is really extraordinary~! It would be even better if the scene of "Angel with Wings" at the end of the day was tired~

As for the other characters, especially the good friends who used to fight with Cloud in the game, it is a pity that they are basically just coming out to run a trick... Except for the cool man Vicent with a certain fan background, he can get some separate pieces. , The remaining comrades can only be allocated a chance to show up and 1-2 lines (I have to mention the only line at the end of RedXIII, its voice is shocking...). But I believe that after many years, these old friends can still see these old friends jumping healthy and happy, and they have become more or less beautiful and handsome. FF7 players can already smile vicissitudes of life~

Next back to the movie as a whole. Regarding CG alone, AC has nothing to pick. When the game FF7 was first launched, it amazed all players with its unprecedented high-quality graphics. And many years later, SquareEnix's technology is even better. There is an FF movie version before and an FFX series afterwards. Its level is beyond doubt, and it is true that AC is not surprising. In terms of picture quality, every strand of the character's hair and every leaf in the background are so vivid. Every screenshot is like a photo, and the details inside can withstand scrutiny. The seventh heaven, the church, the forgotten city... witnessing these re-crafted scenes, their exquisiteness and familiarity can make every FF7 fan tearful. The jerky and rigidness of the character's movements can no longer be found. From the multiplayer fighting scenes to the personal subtle expression processing, it reveals the technical proficiency. It’s worth mentioning that SquareEnix seems to particularly favor Cloud’s big black motorcycles. Not only does the car racing behavior account for a large part of those purely to show off CG technology, but also in the MV of the ending song Calling, this shot dominates the world. I spent 6 minutes on the narrow asphalt pavement in the wild (and I just didn't see other cars). But in any case, this MV combines CG and real framing seamlessly. The transition of the lens and the effects of light and shadow are the same as those taken on film. I have to admire SquareEnix's strong technical background.

Musically, Nobuo Uematsu, who has left SquareEnix, has been addicted to Remix. The BGM of the previous game has been re-arranged and reappeared in the movie. Tifa’s Theme jinglely played when Tifa was walking among the flowers in the church; when Sephiroth appeared, One Wing Angel appeared menacingly with a nine-foot authentic sword shining with silver light; and Loz, a sturdy man with short hair, re-emerged from the ruins. Before standing up, the Victory Fanfare with MIDI sound quality sounded on his mobile phone... The music that has always made people happy and representing victory in battle has a little funny meaning for the first time, making the players shocked and then smiling and embarrassed.

The whole film is overall, although the plot will be relatively weak, and the lens processing techniques need to be strengthened, but combining the picture, music, entertainment and other elements, FF7AC is still an excellent high-level CG film. For viewers who have never played the game, there will indeed be many unexplained terms and doubts when watching this film, but you must know how friendly these things are to FF7 players. What's more, AC has almost perfectly inherited the plot of the game and painted a quite satisfactory ending for the entire FF7 series. Coupled with such a high quality, SquareEnix's sincerity has been quite moving. I believe that we have persisted in the two. In 2009, the Fans who endured the skipping ticket finally nodded, and the sentence was complete.
