A few thoughts

1: Regarding soldiers

"General, your tank is so powerful that
it can knock down the jungle and run over the crowd.
But it has a drawback:
it needs people to drive."
-Brecht
just found 550 Israeli rejections on a website The declaration of the soldiers in military service, they said loudly: General, I refuse to fire! They quoted Brecht’s verse:
“General, people are very useful.
He can fly and kill.
But he has a flaw.
He can think.”
Even so, how many soldiers can think? ? What will happen to these thinking soldiers? Too many movies tell us that more soldiers in the barracks have given up the ability to think under the leadership and become killing machines.
In 1982, Ali Forman was only nineteen years old. Served in the Israel Defense Forces. Foreman, who is less than twenty years old, should still be a child. Too many soldiers are just children, how do they know what they are doing. So they stood on the tank and fired aimlessly, regardless of whether the bullet was an enemy or an unarmed old, young, or child. They actually vent their inner anxiety and fear by pulling the trigger.
It is the director's experience, so this film uses Israeli soldiers as the starting point to let us understand the other end of the war. Let us understand that those who attack us will also vomit on the vast sea, fantasizing that they can lie in the gentle pussy of a powerful woman away from such a terrible place that he can't bear.
What is the ending of the generals who control them on the soldiers? It was mentioned in the movie that when someone called Sharon, the Minister of Defense, about the massacre, Sharon, who was sleepy-eyed, responded lazily: Thank you for calling me in the middle of the night to point it out.
The news of the massacre after the end of the movie shocked the world, and Israeli civilians asked the government to investigate the responsibilities of Israeli politicians and senior military officials in this incident. Sharon was convicted by the special committee for failing to take effective measures to stop the massacre. At that time, he resigned, which seemed to be an explanation, but it was not over yet. Twenty years later, he still became the head of Israel.
At the end of the animation part of the film, there is a long jogging shot following the refugees. The animation is accompanied by real live voices, mothers howling at their pain of losing their children. And the final picture is fixed on an Israeli soldier holding a long spear but short of breath and sluggish eyesight. The next scene shifted from the cartoon to the actual recording scene. The rushing mother, the city in ruins, and countless corpses, including the head of the curly-haired girl that emerged from the ruins.

2: The inner
film about my struggle begins with 26 ferocious wolfhounds running wildly on the street, which is very visually impactful. I admired: Wow, it's so cool. Later, in the machine gun shooting screen, I was in a trance for a moment, as if I was playing a Resident Evil game in a video arcade. (This kind of psychology appears in the process of watching many war movies.) It cannot be said that there seems to be a certain brutal beast in human blood. No wonder there will be "violent aesthetics"••••••
However, it is even more sad that no country has jumped out to uphold justice after so many years of trouble in the Middle East. To maintain neutrality is actually to help the abuser.
The people have no more power to change anything. Gradually, more people became bored with reports on the situation in the Middle East. Any kind of pain will be numb after a long period of time, similar to the black coal mines in Shanxi,
but the pain is still suffering, the mother is still losing children, and the children are still parting with their parents.

I can't figure out how to think about this world.

3: Film format
The year 2007 was "I Grow Up in Iran", which was also in the form of cartoons, and it was found that the filmmakers who funded the filming were all European countries. It seems that cartoons are more conducive to expressing this "sensitive subject." Indeed, with its unconstrained colors and shapes, the animation can freely express those dark depression or manic heart. The use of animation in rock movies is particularly exciting, such as "The Wall".
Compared with Eastern or Hollywood animation, European animation is less bright, clean and beautiful. European animation does not seem to be a fairy tale, but a powerful way to express "a certain idea."

The consciousness of cruel memories flees. The color matching of the picture is very good, and the last scene is really cruel.

    It's an honest animation

Waltz with Bashir quotes

  • [from trailer]

Ari Folman: After the 1982 invasion of Lebanon, I lost my memory. Now in order to remember, I am looking for those who can never forget.

  • Himself - Interviewee: Memory is dynamic, it's alive. If some details are missing, memory fills the holes with things that never happened.
