I went to watch "Superman for All" the day it premiered, including this one and the previous "X-Men 1, 2", "Spider-Man 2", "Superman" (directed by singer, the specific number of which I Can't remember), "Batman Begin" (Nolan's). You can clearly see the transformation of superhero movies in Hollywood, that is, the humanity is emphasized in superhero movies. In the "X-Men" series, because the director himself is a homosexual, he incorporates the social weakness, anxiety and crisis of homosexuality into the movie; in "Spider-Man 2", he has portrayed a down-and-out hero who has no job. If it is denied, do you still want to save the world? In addition to super abilities, I am still an ordinary person. In "Superman", the superman who returns to Earth faces a whole new world, where things are not human beings, and "Batman" goes one step further and explores the dark side of superpowers. There have been many changes in the above works and typical superhero movies. Super is very good, but behind Super, there are many problems or bad.
"Superman for All" is very interesting. A black, alcoholic, acrimonious, irritable, lonely superhero who abuses superpowers is accompanied by destruction. In fact, this is more like an ordinary person's performance after unwittingly gaining super powers.
I watched the first half very happily, but it was uncomfortable. Because the movie uses hand-held photography, the constantly shaking images intensify the hero's sense of anxiety and instability, and the loose shots make the movie more atypical. But objectively, this shooting method is more like a B-level literary film than a summer blockbuster, which may be the underlying reason why many people are dissatisfied with the film. But the most critical problem is: I get dizzy when I see the shaking picture, and the result is half of it. I went to the toilet and vomited. After I came back and watched it for 5 minutes, I was forced to withdraw. Therefore, I did not catch up with the stereotyped emotional dramas of superhuman men and women who were despised by everyone. After the disc is available, I plan to divide the movie into 20-minute sections and watch one section every day so that I don’t feel dizzy.
In short, whether clichéd or not, being able to incorporate the plot of clichéd literary and artistic films into superhero movies is objectively an improvement in Hollywood. Therefore, "Superman for All" still makes me admire.
