I actually cried

It’s been a long time since I was so moved. I cried when I saw Oliver and his family dancing on the pageant stage. So I highly recommend this movie because it really touched my heart.

This is a weird family, extreme and bankrupt dad, autistic brother who refuses to speak, uncle who committed suicide by homosexuality, grandfather who addicts drugs and likes to read pornographic magazines...No one wants to open up and listen to family members. So, The quarrel became a big meal at the table. Oliver's sunshine just formed a sharp contrast in this family. Only she was smiling, not worried, dare to ask, dare to speak, dare to do, a simple and beautiful 7-year-old girl. With Oliver running for Little Miss Sunshine, the whole family drove the dilapidated yellow bus and started their dream journey. Everything changed. Grandpa passed away during the trip, but the whole family still insisted on fulfilling Oliver's dream and came to California to participate in the competition.

Dad kept talking about the ninth theory, saying that there are only two kinds of people in this world, the winners and the losers. He asked Oliver, are you sure you can win? If it fails, nothing makes sense. My brother accidentally discovered that he was color-blind and could no longer drive a jet. His long-time dream was shattered. He pointed at his family and roared, saying that he hates them, they are all losers. Dad wouldn’t let Oliver eat ice cream that would make you fat, but she was only a seven-year-old child. Mom said: Honey, do whatever you want. Oliver has always been afraid of failure. She said that Dad hates loser, but grandpa told her: The real loser is the one who chooses to withdraw before it even starts.

In the eyes of many people, my father is a loser, and he faces bankruptcy in his middle age, and he cannot even afford the travel expenses; his uncle is a loser, and homosexuality cannot choose to commit suicide; his brother is a loser, but he chooses to escape when he is 15 years old. In the end, even many years of dreams were lost; Oliver was also a loser, twisting his fat waist on the stage of many beautiful women to dance the vulgar striptease that grandpa taught her. What is real success? What is failure? It depends on the definition in everyone's mind.

When the desperate brother groaned on the earth dam, Oliver made a small hug and melted his cold heart. Smuggling away Grandpa's body seems absurd, but they know: we are family, Grandpa's biggest wish is to see Oliver standing on the stage to perform. In order for the little daughter to be late to sign up, my father actually knelt down and said: You don't know what we have experienced along the way. My brother said: I really want to sleep until I open my eyes at the age of 18 without experiencing the troubles of growing up. Life is a beautiful competition of one thing after another. If you escape, you will lose many precious experiences. The final choice is whether to let Oliver continue to participate in the competition and be ridiculed by everyone, or to quit? Participating in this competition, she devoted everything, and in the beauty pageant, she seemed to be an ugly duckling. Which one hurt her more? Oliver looked at his round belly in the mirror and walked firmly to the stage.

Are those little girls really beautiful? At such a young age, but can't see the innocence that should have been, she is really a precocious little woman in her gestures. Among them, Oliver's reality is even more moving. She is even excited about Miss California eating ice cream. Maybe her dance is vulgar, but it makes me cry.

Success is not a result, but a process. You can't avoid it. In addition to hard work, you have to feel it with your heart. Choosing a brave and real life, I think it is true success.

The film is named Little Sunshine Beauty, and Sunshine is also defined by this. It is intended to choose the sun, not the beauty pageant. It is a pity that the eyes of the world are focused on "beauty", ignoring the true meaning of sunlight. It was expected that Oliver lost the election, and it was also a good luck for her. She did not conform to the beauty in the traditional sense, but more importantly, she saw her sunshine and her truth.

Under the blue sky and dazzling sunlight, the family worked together to push the dilapidated bus slowly on the highway, just for the dream journey of the little girl, that touch of yellow became the most moving scenery in summer.
