Ordinary shock

If "The Pentium Era" is a choking horn, then "the lookout" is undoubtedly a timeless poem, the longer it gets, the more mellow it gets.
This is the debut work of Scott Frank as the director. The male number one and the white-faced boy Joseph Gordon-Levitt has not yet received attention for the following year's "Inception", although there is a bank robbery. In the shootout scene, the overall rhythm is always unhurried. However, this is definitely the most touching "life" inspirational movie.
First of all, I have to mention that the music created by Daniel James Newton Howard adds a lot to the film. I was attracted by the first five minutes of the soundtrack and the romantic shots of driving to catch light (fireflies) in the dark. A well-made film will never sacrifice the soundtrack, just like a pretty girl’s facial features are not beautiful, so I decided to watch it.
Secondly, as a screenwriter, Scott Frank's skill cannot be underestimated. The film extends the style of another work written by him, "Marley and Me", which is plain but not lacking in shock. What impressed me the most was that the director mopped the floor when Chris cleaned the bank after the car accident, accompanied by the ice hockey game on the radio, flashed back to the former "he" as the star of the school team. The strong contrast between ideal and reality, I believe Everyone who has ever had a dream will be deeply touched by Chris' last helpless injury. This is quite similar to another excellent inspirational film "At the End of the Day" Chinese Sente as a cleaner rather than an astronaut watching the rocket taking off. But here Chris fell from heaven to hell, feeling deeper.
The last, but not unimportant element, is the performance of Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He graduated from the Ivy Department and has a unique noble temperament, which fits well with the Chris in the film. Chris' father is also the CEO of a certain company. He himself was a handsome guy with a bright future before the car accident. Secondly, his performance is restrained and touching, and personally feels more impactful than Kenu Reeves.
At the end of the film, Chris starts to skating again. Although it is not as good as before, he understands that he accepts himself now, accepts the ordinary of life, and enjoys the extraordinary and priceless things, the friendship between people, Trust, and repaying it, is not as fascinating as a grand ideal, but it is also not easy.
