Dust in the torrent

My friends think this film is dull. The cruelty is not as good as other war films, and the human nature is not as sensational as Schindler’s list. War is not an entertainment. In my opinion, what is plain is not a film, but what is plain is just the viewer.

When I watched it in early 2002, my job changed abruptly. Watching this film will give you another experience. As the times change, individuals become motes in the torrent, and they will not be cast aside by taking advantage of the trend. People in a world war have very few choices. There is nothing to do, only to survive. This is a tragedy of dust. Until the night when the war was about to end dismal, the fugitive and the officer sat down and listened to a piano music. The two people had mixed feelings, and it was clear to the people who were sitting there waiting to analyze the quality of the movie. Finally, when the protagonist silently looked at the sun-filled muddy trail, I suddenly felt that the so-called happiness is better than the peace after surviving. At that time, there was nothing to fear except for the heavens.

In a World War II movie, what cruelty and human nature are all about entertainment. While waving and scolding the Nazis, think about the difference between Britain and France, which indulged the devil and ignited the fire? In a word, there is no one to stop the conflict of interests at that time, and everyone has to go to the torrent of roads. Therefore, to fully express with art, one cannot do without a "true" word. Only people like old S who grew up in peace can willingly create "Saving Private Ryan" this kind of lie with a head, and it's hard to accept it with closed eyes.

Polanski guarantees the authenticity of this movie. Everywhere. There is nothing to tell, just to mention the small details, the shells exploded, and the protagonist has the sound effect of tinnitus on the spot. Well, maybe Polanski's memories of his tiny dusty youth.

The Pianist quotes

  • Lednicki: You took everything I had. Me, a musician. You took my violin, you took my soul.

  • [last lines]

Lednicki: It was here, I'm certain of it. Well, it's not here now. I shouted, abused them. I'm not proud of it, but that's what I did. I stood where you are now. There was a barbed wire and this German came up to me. You didn't catch his name?

    Wladyslaw Szpilman: No.

Lednicki: I'll ask at the factory. They may know something.
