Twelve years later, twelve monkeys

Twelve years ago, when I was twelve years old (virtual), I followed my sister to watch "Twelve Monkeys" (it was divided into R grades, and China had a grading system, we all broke the law~), if I remember correctly, at that time It's still a video tape, no VCD, young and ignorant, basically don't know what it is talking about, and there are no special action scenes, and don't know the "two cloths" (they were not so famous at the time), looking boring, No impression at all.

Today, twelve years later, the ghosts and gods dropped the twelve monkeys again. The 2AVI HD version is still in the 2AVI HD version. Although the picture effect is also very ordinary, I did not feel bored at all when I watched it. I finished watching it without moving for 2 hours. I feel that it is not without reason that IMDB gives such a high score. Both the story and the performance are of high standard.

James Cole, played by Bruce Willis (abbreviated as Lao Bu), was a prisoner in 202X in the future. He was sent back as a "volunteer" in 1996 to investigate the cause of the virus that caused humans to migrate underground at the end of the year, but was sent back to 1990 by mistake. The attacking policeman was put in a mental hospital, where he met the patient Jeffrey and the beautiful doctor Kathryn played by Brad Pitt (Xiaobu for short). Old Bu was very embarrassed in it, drooling, and had to eat spiders, no matter how he gave the doctor. Explaining what is about to happen will only make the doctor more convinced that he has a mental problem. In this, Xiaobu has a serious manic tendency, and he keeps talking excitedly. He often has a lot of ideas. He is the patient who likes to be tied up when making troubles. His acting skills are quite good.

Finally, after being tortured, Lao Bu returned to the future. He made a report and was sent to 1996. There was a slight change on the way. He ran into World War I and was hit by a bullet. He finally came to 1996. Kathryn has become a well-known psychiatrist and is signing a book... Lao Bu found her and "held her" to find clues. During this period, Kathryn had been persuading Lao Bu from the perspective of a doctor to believe that everything was his hallucination, but the clues were finally found. It was discovered that it was a virus studied by Xiao Bu's father, and it was in 1990 that Xiao Bu listened to Lao Bu’s prophecy and prepared to form the "Twelve Monkeys" army and spread the virus around the world... Lao Bu realized that he had caused a catastrophe and went back to the future. At first I didn't believe in myself, thinking that I was really living in fantasy. At this time, a series of "miracles" and prophecies that Lao Bu disappeared out of thin air several times made Kathryn gradually believed Lao Bu and began to try to stop the "Twelve Monkeys" conspiracy. At this time Lao Bu came back from the future, but began to doubt himself. This time Kathryn began to persuade Lao Bu to continue his mission of saving mankind. Finally, after several setbacks, the two finally stood on the united front. At this time, things began to develop into the dreams that Lao Bu repeated every day. Lao Bu, who was increasingly worried, tried to change history several times, but things continued on the same track. In the end, it still failed to change the end of the spread of the virus and the death of 5 billion humans. Lao Bu returned. The heroic sacrifice, fortunately, the virus has nothing to do with the "twelve monkeys", but because of another mad scientist from Play God, so that Lao Bo may die with peace of mind.

It is also a common theme of "go back to the past and change history" in science fiction, but basically movies of this theme have not been successful. In the end, it is basically an endless loop. Before returning to the past, Lao Bu saw many clues and left behind. After going back, I followed these clues to find the source, but found that it was caused by a wrong experience, and the last clue left was also because he went back to the past and met Kathryn left behind, which is another chicken-and-egg paradox. ...Going back to the past cannot make history run in the desired direction. It has been shown countless times in various types of movies in various ways. It is precisely because of knowing the result that the protagonist's actions have made the trajectory of history follow. Development in that direction, without exception, returned to the original point.

In fact, the protagonist has indeed changed history. His dreams have changed many times. Sometimes Boo is carrying a suitcase, and sometimes Boo is killed. If the dream reflects his prediction of the future, it means that Kathryn's appearance has changed. With all this, the person who finally boarded the plane was not Xiaobu. Although history did not follow the original path, it could not undo the fate of human beings suffering a devastating blow.

The acting skills of the "two cloths" in this movie are very brilliant. When the old cloth heard "A Wonderful World" in the car, a childlike smile appeared on his face. He who has always been a tough guy will also have a naive side, but Living underground and wanting to see the sea, he still didn't realize his wish after all. In the end, he left an indelible shadow on his childhood. He was indeed a tragic figure. And Xiaobu played the crazy Jeffrey vividly, generously speaking, occasionally nervous twitching, and speaking with an unquenchable excitement, which also earned him the Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The female doctor Kathryn is nothing special, even the acting is very general, but what she said is impressive: And what we say is the truth is what everybody accepts. Right, Owen? I mean, psychiatry: it's the latest religion . We decide what's right and wrong. We decide who's crazy or not. I'm in trouble here. I'm losing my faith. Mindset sometimes leads people into a dead end, and there is no way to judge whether it is true or false. In psychiatric medicine, there are still many things that have not been studied clearly, and there are many inconclusive conclusions about pathology. Maybe they will be able to study and understand in a few hundred years...

The whole film is filled with a gray tone, whether it is in the "past" or in the "future", perhaps to render a kind of apocalyptic atmosphere, it looks like the lighting of the whole movie is not set, the lens There was still a layer of dust on it. If you are not a true sci-fi fan, but just come here, you will definitely be quite disappointed. There is no gorgeous future scene, no hot action scenes, tough guys become unlucky, handsome guys become mentally ill, and the heroine will be stunning and photogenic at the end. But such a dull or even dull movie is indeed a sci-fi movie in the history of movies. If you like deep sci-fi stories, it will definitely not let you down~
