Remember the different reactions of the lovers after the old man told the story? Yes, this should also be the reaction of many audiences. If you don't believe it, it's just a lie made into a movie. It's awkward to look at it. And you believe, it is full of hope, the water monster will be passed down from generation to generation, there will be new children with new stories, and maybe one day you will find an egg on the beach. Since you believe it, you don't have to worry about what the water monster eats, how it holds its breath, and why it is invulnerable. In the eyes of a child, this is a matter of course without explanation. I am very fortunate that I saw this movie when I was 12 years old. It touched and shocked me so deeply that this good feeling continued to be seen again and again in the future. I highly recommend it to children, as well as those older children who retain their childlike innocence and still believe.
