(This is the first time I write a film review, so I just want to keep a record wherever I think of it.)
[Written on the front] I admire your tenacity, your innocence makes me moved, you bring me a breath like the spring breeze, let me find the sweetness of love again... I have a large grassland, you can gallop, give your endless freedom. But you are not a wild horse, but a noble princess in a bustling city. Your wisdom and broad-mindedness, as well as your gentle and easy-going eyes that seem to be able to handle everything, make me fascinated, I can put down my guard, take off my heavy armor, put on light plain clothes, and ride a long-lost horse to gallop in In the wilderness, sitting in the valley to enjoy inner peace, as if returning to the age of innocence. But this grassland is too vast and the wind and waves are too great.
Knowing that this movie was recommended by a public account, even though the tweet was in-depth analysis and contained a lot of spoilers, my curiosity still drove me to go and see the movie. Perhaps this is the charm of a good film.
I like to watch this kind of literary and artistic films quietly on a small screen alone. When I see the moving parts, I can cry and laugh unscrupulously, immerse myself in my emotions alone, and feel the ups and downs of my heart. Not in a noisy movie theater, enduring the strange atmosphere created by those who like to treat tears as laughs.
The film is nearly three hours long. There are no twists and turns of the storyline, strong visual conflicts, but a straightforward story. So, if you are a patient literary film lover, maybe this film is suitable for you to recommend.
Annie is the editor-in-chief of a magazine in New York. She has short, crisp hair, delicate makeup, decisive actions, and a resolute attitude. She has rules, but she is also strong and likes to dominate everything, including career, family decision-making, and children's education. Her husband, Robert, is a gentle, generous and generous man. She and her husband love each other. Their daughter, Grace, is a puberty, full of personality but somewhat rebellious. Like other similar families in general, there are constant small conflicts in life. Because of Anne's authoritarian character, her husband and daughter united and stood on the opposite side to resist her "rule", and Anne was exhausted. In fact, there are many people with a personality like Annie in life. They have outstanding ability, strong decision-making power, domineering and strong desire for control. But in the final analysis, stemming from their super self-confidence and selfless care for the weak, their favorite sentence is: I am for your own good. But sometimes inappropriate methods can backfire, sacrificing oneself in exchange for betrayal. A sense of loss of control over life is their weakness. But for a family, these are at best only small frictions during the running-in period. On the premise that the overall balance is not broken, each of them can grow in the process of running in and constantly improve their personalities. So in the eyes of outsiders, Annie and Robert are still a perfect match. This home is flawless and a model family.
However, the accident came suddenly.
In the cold winter season, the white snow and dead branches outline the desolate picture of winter. Grace and her best friend Judith made an appointment to ride their beloved horse to the countryside. In the process of playing in the countryside, her friend Judith and her horse fell down the hillside and rolled onto the road. She was crushed by a high-speed truck and died. In order to save her friend, Grace rolled down with her horse pilgrim. Grace lost a leg because of this. The pilgrim was injured in a large area in order to save her master, and her breath was dying. . Physical wounds can be healed, but spiritual wounds almost completely overwhelm Grace and Pilgrim.
Under the multiple blows of losing a friend, losing a leg, and about to lose a pilgrim, Grace is gradually on the verge of collapse, and has the idea of self-terminating and euthanizing the pilgrims. Annie realizes that if changes are not made, they will lose their daughter. So, despite the firm opposition of her husband and daughter, she resolutely decided to restore her daughter's confidence in life by curing the pilgrims. So she learned that there is a type of person called horse whisper (horse whisperer), who can communicate with horses, through the process of looking up the information on the treatment of horses. One of them was in the newspapers, and this man was Tom on a ranch far away in Panama.
After her invitation to come to New York was rejected, she resolutely took her daughter and pilgrims thousands of miles and drove all the way to Panama to find Tom. Because she believes that this is the only way to save her daughter. Facts also proved that her decision was right, despite the enormous pressure, despite the hardships of the journey, and despite the fierce conflict between the mother and daughter during the journey.
"I hate your self-righteousness! You know it's not my idea!" Grace protested fiercely.
"I'm doing this for your own good, why don't you understand?"
"No, you're just for yourself, to prove you're always right!"
Anne was crushed at once. Angrily, he dropped his daughter and ran to a far corner sobbing alone. Strong people never show their weakness in front of people, and when they've released their emotions alone, they're still radiant when they're back in front of people. It can be said that in this family, Anne is the "head of the family". All decisions and outcomes are solely her own responsibility.
