I haven't read the original "Les Miserables", but the looks of the young couple are still okay. I don't understand why the police are chasing Jean Valjean like a ghost, and Jean has to live a sneaky life. The sheriff may have been influenced by Ran's kindness. In fact, Ran had the opportunity to kill the sheriff, but he had to go against his creed of being a new person and shoot him to death, but he fell from the predicament of being hunted down to a psychological predicament. Watching the sheriff jump into the river, Ran is finally free, finally liberated.
