walking on the brink of death

I like the feeling of walking on the brink of death. I will be afraid, but my heart is always driven by an unstoppable desire. I must step on the tightrope and conquer!

There is a bad boy urge in Philip's heart, always wanting to break something. However, once he steps on the tightrope, he becomes incredibly focused, you know, that's his alter ego, and perhaps the most authentic self.

I went to the dentist as a child and read about the twin towers being built in the newspaper. what! That's my dream, my dream is still under construction, not finished yet!

On the grass, he and his buddies set up the wire together. Under the white clouds and blue sky, they continued to practice and play. What a beautiful youth! I also want a piece of green grass, listening to the chirping of insects and birds, and working hard for my dreams freely!

A solemn ceremony is being held in Notre Dame de Paris. Can you imagine? At this moment, Philip is having wire on it!

In order to realize his dream, Philip flew to New York many times to explore the terrain on the Twin Towers and draw manuscript paper. Once I was so fascinated that my foot was pierced by a nail. He, who could only walk on crutches, was treated very well. No one asked him why he came to the building, no one stopped him, but someone took the initiative to help him. After that, although the foot injury had healed, Philip still lived on crutches habitually.

It took a lot of effort just to bring the equipment up to the top floor. Now, the guards who came to patrol from time to time made Philip and his partners nervous. They can only hide in corners and cover themselves with cloth. For three full hours, they did not dare to move.

Can't wait any longer, in the shadows, they venture out. Suddenly I saw the guard sitting, but luckily he fell asleep. Really a false alarm. And the falling wire was finally pulled back before dawn.

After some tossing, the friend worried that Philip's energy had been exhausted. However, when he stepped on the tightrope, his friend saw that focused face again. I can rest assured.

Forty-five minutes, Philip walked up and down the wire eight times. He kept teasing the policeman standing beside him.

The girlfriend hugged Philip, celebrating the victory, they enjoyed the pleasure of the flesh, it was a great feeling!

But when Philip fulfilled his dream, his relationship with Nina also came to an end. Friendships with best friends also broke down. Another friend was permanently deported from the United States.

This may be the price of success! But all endings, as Nina says, come to an end in a very beautiful way.

At the end, Philip tied ropes in the garden and practiced again. The wire, the dance in the sky, gave Philip's life a magnificent and free color. We are on the ground, but don't forget to look up at the stars!

Look up, how beautiful, that throbbing black spot!

Man on Wire quotes

  • Mark Lewis: I never doubted Philippe's talent, his prowess on the wire. It was the unforeseen things that really worried me. You know, America's a very litigious society... you know, involuntary manslaughter, assisted suicide... I didn't want to be liable for the death of a friend.

  • Sgt Charles Daniels: ...I observed the tight rope dancer... because you couldn't call him a walker... approximately half-way between the two towers. I personally figured I was watching something that somebody else would never see again in the world. Thought it was once in a lifetime.
