They met, laughed and left?

Too much to say, not enough short comments.

The first thing I want to say is that I don’t quite accept the rating of this movie. I feel that it is low. It may also be my subjective assumption. After all, everyone’s aesthetics are different, so there is nothing to worry about.

Secondly, I found this "Midnight Encounter" because I recently liked the "fake love, truth-telling tuberculosis" movie. Because the male and female protagonists are not too familiar, only know that the male protagonist is the US team, and he is so handsome and affectionate. It can be said that this is my favorite sub-genre movie. Even though there is "Love in the Trilogy" first, as well as "Once", "Let's Go Again" and so on, this "Midnight Encounter" has no love in the third. The episodes are so profound, with some bloody episodes of married women and plots of ex-girlfriends; there are not so many good soundtracks in "Once" and "Let's Go Again", but it can be said that this is the best movie viewing experience I have. A great one, how to say? Please read below.

First, the appearance, strength, and sense of CP of the male and female protagonists are at the forefront, so even if this is a bloody Mary Su drama, it will not prevent us from looking like a nympho.

Second, the lens language is beautiful. The interlacing of the swaying long-legged shots and the close-ups really brought me into the picture, floating with the ups and downs of the protagonist's emotions, what a beautiful word!

Third, the small details impress people. The small chorus in the bar, the heartfelt complaints on the public telephone, the hotel art graffiti, the convenience store chat, an unintentionally planned scam... Get to know each other in every little thing.

Fourth, there are tender moments, but no excessive indulgence. It didn't destroy the beauty in our hearts. When the hero and heroine went to the hotel, they had a hunch that something was going to happen, but they also had a hunch that nothing would happen. Because such a director who can tell a story will not destroy such a hazy, just-right atmosphere. Sure enough, as I expected, the two may be the only couple who went to the hotel to open a room and play games. It was really beautiful to see the two of them sitting on the bed chatting, writing the hotel service evaluation card boredly on the bed, slowly disarming their hearts, and calmly accepting the real existence of each other.

Fifth, there is no violation of values. "What do you do when you make a promise to one person and then fall in love with another person?", "When I make a promise to one person, I won't allow myself to love another person who makes me more comfortable". I agree with Nick's values, cheating is instinct, loyalty is a choice. The hostess also said: Yes, I still love him. Therefore, at the last moment, they held the last bottom line, and also adhered to their own views on love and values.

Sixth, open ending. There is no miss like Love in the first part, nor like "Once" after meeting the person who is most cherished but going their separate ways, and there is no secular ending like "Leave Again". "Thank you for letting me know that I'm going to love another woman besides her in my life," Nick said. Maybe when saying goodbye to the kiss, both of them have the urge to want time to stop at this moment, hug each other tightly and not separate, and ignore other people or things. But no, both sides have things to deal with urgently. The heroine needs to clear up her emotions and have an explanation for her marriage; the hero needs to find an ex-girlfriend, open her heart, seal the past, and attend an interview.

A few years later, maybe the two will meet at a certain corner and continue to write this unfinished marriage. Perhaps, the two will not meet each other again, and time will stop here and condense into eternity. Memories are better than reality.

I hope that lovers in the world, without the bondage of the world, cherish each other when they meet, and don't let tragedy come to pass on us.

Before We Go quotes

  • Nick Vaughan: So talk to me about these pieces. Is this done by your famous London artist guy?

    Brooke Dalton: Ohhh hohoh...

    [chucking]

Brooke Dalton: Well how did you know?

Nick Vaughan: Well... you can tell you need to know quite a bit about art in order to appreciate it.

Brooke Dalton: [laughs] You're an a**hole. Did you know the most interesting thing about hotel art is not the actual art itself? Obviously. But it's what's behind it.

Nick Vaughan: What, like a safe?

    Brooke Dalton: No.
