My Humble Opinion on "Murder on the Orient Express"

In "Orient Express", the "drama" American old lady Harbart has left a deep impression on me. Her actions and images in the whole case are like an eventful old lady on the street, and she can't stop for a moment, Poirot There is nothing for her. However, before her real identity was announced, I never doubted her "acting skills" at all, let alone imagine that it was her acting skills. Under the characterization of the grandmother, her pervertedness and "pretentiousness" are not contrived, adding a bit of humanity to the heavy case.

This version of Lumet's script is much more solid than the new version, and it feels like a group scene. Although Ingrid Bergman has few roles, her superb acting is worthy of another Oscar. The problem is that the central character of Detective Poirot is made too much like a clown, and the more he looks, the more comical he is...

The reasoning paragraphs presented in this film have distinct classical aesthetics, which is not difficult to see in the setting of its main characters (the classicism part is extended from the retro temperament of a group of traditional European aristocrats). Most of the whole film takes place in the narrow and cramped space on the train. Thanks to director Lu Meite's powerful scheduling ability in the narrow space, the story space of the film is clear and abundant, and it also has a slow and elegant pace that fits the era. The first 90 minutes are laid out only for the last 30 minutes of puzzle solving. Aside from the powerful ending that I couldn't guess that everyone was a murderer, what shocked me the most was the author's attitude. When the justice of the results and the justice of the procedure conflicted, she chose the former, and she let the personal law enforcement power be suspended. I don't necessarily agree with the law, but I appreciate her bravery and warmth born of human nature. I also realized the reason why Poirot's fame is far inferior to that of Sherlock Holmes. One is that Poirot's image is not handsome and trendy, the other is that he lacks action scenes, and the third is that Poirot's reasoning is too static and invisible, with a classical elegance and dignity. But the image appears to be less impactful.
