First of all, there is no evil and no righteous. Everyone in the town is not good, and they are not ordinary bad people. They belong to the evil devil in the world. Anyone in the town deserves to die. After the male protagonist calls out God (an angel in disguise), everyone should know the existence of heaven, but they continue their evil and destroy the church.
Overall, this film only deserves four stars, and the other one is due to the unexpected plot reversal. The finale should be the right way for all the people in the town to die, but it should be considered a sequel, which gave a bad ending.
