The way the heroine gets along with her parents is very touching. Maybe past the age of first love, all I see is the way family members communicate.
For example, the dialogue between the heroine and the father, the fig tree that the father painted for her, the parents' attitude towards the two sons' love of music, and the father's care for the mentally handicapped brother. These are very moving.
Of course, looking back at the first love, those delicate feelings are well described. Changes in mood, inner expectations and unease, very vivid.
