Alibaba (English: Alibaba Corporation; NYSE, stock code "BABA"), the largest Internet company in China and the second largest Internet company in the world, is a business-to-business online trading market platform founded by Jack Ma in 1999.
In May 2003, Jack Ma invested 100 million yuan to establish a personal online trade market platform - Taobao.com. In October 2004, Alibaba invested and established Alipay, which launched intermediary-based secure transaction services for the Chinese e-commerce market. On September 19, 2014, Alibaba Group was officially listed on the New York Stock Exchange with the stock code "BABA". On November 11, 2017, the total transaction volume (GMV) of the 2017 Tmall Double 11 Global Carnival reached 168.2 billion yuan, with mobile transactions accounting for 90% and 168.2 billion yuan in transaction volume. On November 20, Alibaba announced that it has reached a new retail strategic cooperation with Auchan Retail and Runtai Group.
