Thanks to Robert De Niro for another great performance! Also thanks to director Martin Scorsese !
Thank you, thank you all for the applause! All right, everyone, listen to me and continue this story.
Jerry is a nationally famous talk show actor, and many fans are crazy about him. Especially the girl Martha , but the main character is Rupp Papkin, played by De Niro . Rupp is obsessed with talk show performances! His dream was to perform on stage with Jerry.
At the end of one of Jerry's gigs, Rupp got into Jerry's limousine with Martha's help. Rupp enthusiastically introduces himself to Jerry, he's a good stand-up comedian and he needs to be an opportunity.
But Jerry didn't care about Rupp at all, but Rupp didn't care and still regarded Jerry as a good friend.
In his fantasies he also helped Jerry do the show!
Then Rupp came to the store for Rita to eat out. Rupp liked Rita and complimented her on Haikou.
Rupp then called Jerry frequently, but never got through. Rupp was never discouraged, and when he got home, he was still reveling in the performance. Just no real audience.
Rupp regards Jerry as his good friend, so he takes Rita to Jerry's luxurious villa. But Jerry doesn't consider Rupp a friend and kicks him out. This left Rita humiliated and heartbroken.
Rupp finally wakes up, and Jerry doesn't appreciate himself and insults himself. So Jerry was kidnapped in broad daylight with Martha.
Rupp couldn't figure out why Jerry was so unkind and refused to give himself a chance! He threatens Jerry by putting himself on a TV talk show or crashing him.
Jerry had to call the producers and put Rupp on the show. Rupp happily went to the TV station to perform on stage, and he had already prepared all kinds of jokes. Meanwhile, the cops have Rupp in control, but Rupp says he'll let Jerry go as long as he lets himself finish the show.
Poor Jerry is tied up with five flowers, and the crazy Martha is with him. Martha really has a love-hate relationship with Jerry.
In the end, Rupp successfully came on stage and performed a wonderful talk show. Don't forget to make a joke of yourself: "I came on stage because I kidnapped Jerry" The audience under the stage burst into laughter.
At the end of the blurb, Rupp said what was in his heart, "I'd rather be the king of the night than be a fool for a lifetime!" After saying that, he bowed and stepped down, and took the police to find Jerry.
But the story doesn't end here. Rupp was jailed for kidnapping, but the show was exceptionally successful.
So will Rupp become the king of comedy when he gets out of prison? I won't spoil it.
