The first thing we have to admit is, to compare with the novel (it will be better to name it a story book), the film does have a really great expansion in the plot. On the one hand, it explains the experience of Max in real life in more detail, on the other hand, there are more stories happened in the world of wild tings where Max's fantasy . The world that Max is imagining and what he is doing in the fantasy world are inseparable come from his experience does in real life.

In the movie, Max's parents divorced, his sister loved him, but she didn't show it often. His mother loved him very much, but she also had her own life and her own romantic relationship, so he hoped to get family's care, but there are not much, Max's emotions of caring can't be satisfied. After experiencing such a reality, Max decided to hide himself into the world he imagined. This is the reason why the story happened.

Max's imaginary world has no logic at all, and this world does not need logic. At the first second, he is in the forest, but at the next second, he is in the desert, there is full of playing and playing, it just Max's wild world and there only max's emotion is needed, it is the world created by max. He felt lonely and helpless, and he saw Carol, who was the same lonely and helpless as him; He wanted to be accepted by others, so he created the world of wild tings, there are many wild friends get along with him; He hoped that his feelings could be heard by others and he could be taken care of by others, so he became the king of wild tings world; He hopes to be accompanied by friends, so there are scenes in the world where the beasts play with him; When he is tired, all the monsters are lying together and fall asleep, everything is so direct naturally, sincere and beautiful, this is the logic of a little boy's. But even in this small world that I fantasize, it is not always good. In short, things have changed, everything will always be bad for one's reasons , that makes Max confused and he don't know how to deal with, he wants to escape again.

In this fantasy world, the wild things changed their attitude, even they all did love Max before. The original warm imaginary world makes Max feel the anxiety and fear, even though the world is imagined by himself, but all the experiences and emotions does exist in this world, but the change is real. The emotional experience they bring to Max is exactly the same as what Max has experienced in reality, which makes him feel heavy. For the little boy, although he does not know why the development of the matter will be like this, but he can personally feel the emotional changes brought about by the occurrence of things, and these real feelings can not be separated from the reality of max encounter all of this is organized into emotions.

We all used to be a kid, and we all have a depressive time what we didn't know how to tell our own feelings to others, we will walk into a world what we created by oneself, and talk like the characters in our own world to ease our own feelings. For an adult, we are still experiencing the various emotional experiences that we bring to life, but because we are mature, we no longer put our emotional experience at the most important level like a child. In terms of position, and even no longer care about the true feelings, the film tells us in this way that our feelings are not only very important, but should not be forgotten.
