Although it won't become a classic, it can't help but give it five stars. Everyone in it has three views that make people cry (literally, I was moved to cry twice by a comedy). Some people may say that the plot is too ideal, but as a same-sex theme, it is worth five stars to make it so ordinary or even cliché, and we really need such an ideal, romantic and youthful same-sex movie. When Simon came out, his friends stayed away from him not because he was gay, but simply because his actions to hide his gay identity hurt his friends. I had thought that his friends should have chosen to forgive and stand by Simon's side when he needed support the most, but on second thought, isn't it just another kind of discrimination that it's easier to forgive him because of his gay identity? So the three views of this plot are really touching!
However, as an American youth campus film that can no longer be typical except for its same-sex theme, there is only one kiss in the whole process. Singapore has rated it as 21 banned, which is still a bit sad...
