victory of love

The film opens with a training match between Drago's father and son, reminiscent of "Rocky 4", where Drago's father and wife have no emotional machine-like training.

The camera turns to Creed, focusing mainly on Creed's emotional experience. As in the Rocky series, Creed conquered everything for his son and his wife. But what impresses me is the Drago and his son, the changes around him after his father's defeat to Rocky. As well as the change of the father's emotions towards his son at the end of the film, the father re-understands what is most important and completes his own redemption. But I think the Drago and his son won, and the ending would be better.

It's more like the end of the Rocky series than it is Creed's theme. When I think of the song Gonna fly now in the movie again, it is also a tribute to Rocky, the end of one era and the beginning of another. Maybe there will be no Rocky in the next Creed series, but Creed will always carry Rocky's beliefs and go on.

The only regret is that my two favorite Hollywood action actors. Stallone and Mickey Rourke have not worked together on a boxing movie.

Creed II quotes

  • Ivan Drago: [Drago sits at a table across from Rocky in the Adrian's restaurant] Because of you... I lose everything. My country. Respect. You ever see stray dogs in the Ukraine? They go for days without food. People spit on them, they are nothing. No home. Only will to survive... to fight. I have son. All he knows...

    [raises his fists]

    Ivan Drago: ... is this.

  • Rocky Balboa: This guy, he's dangerous.

    Adonis Johnson: I'M DANGEROUS!
