Based on the novel "The Price of Salt" by Patricia Highsmith, the original author of "The Genius Ripley," Carol tells the story of 19-year-old Bellevite, an aspiring stage designer who is forced to make a living in A clerk in a New York department store. She met Carol, a wealthy young woman, in a department store and was immediately attracted to each other. The two soon became friends and had a "forbidden love". In the film, Cate Blanchett plays the lady Carol, while the charismatic Bellevite is played by Rooney Mara.
