If this movie becomes a series, it should be a Taylor Sheridan series.
The first part was blessed by two masters, Villeneuve and Deakins, and the degree of completion was very high. In the past three years, it was regarded as a nominal "business card" in China, but it may be because of Villeneuve's performance at that time. The "stuffy-beautiful" style has not yet been conferred, and the final score of 7.5 always feels like something.
Unexpectedly, when the second part came out, although the style and plot basically maintained the standard, but because of the change of director and photography, more people did not buy it. Is the difference between the two films really to the point of "throwing the street" and "making a judgment"?
Although the current rating (1500 people, 6.7; IMDB 7.3) is not conclusive, it is not fair to focus on chasing celebrity effects and blindly and arbitrarily depreciating.
As a rookie writer and director, Taylor Sheridan is actually quite good. It can be seen that the second part of "Border Slayer" is not a deliberate sequel. If it is a trilogy or more, the next step is to expect Sheridan to direct it personally. There are few original series of action movies with a strong style. It would be a pity if it could not be freed from the halo of Villeneuve and was inexplicably looked down upon.
