I didn't intend to see this as a normal cartoon from the beginning, and sure enough, Wes Anderson did not disappoint me.
Strange, it was the biggest feeling I had after watching this movie.
From the very first scene of the movie, I had an incomparably weird feeling. Afterwards, the policy of driving away dogs, to the absurd Isle of Dogs, inexplicable teenagers, and strange searches are all full of unreasonable, but quiet Come to think of it, there are a lot of interesting things in there.
A selfish decision from the leadership can lead to the following of millions of people, but never heard the voice of opposition, how strange but true is happening around us. And you see, every time in order to "show determination", the leaders will "lead the way" and make some examples, which can move the public badly, but in fact, this dog, Xiaolin Diandian, is really worthy of the mayor's care.
After that, the story came to the dirty and chaotic Canis Island, and the little boy's plane crashed and a black smoke came out. I have to say that this style of painting is really suitable. The setting of Japan always makes me wonder if Hiroshima and Nagasaki are so desolate and dilapidated today. There is even a research institute on the island that uses dogs for in vivo experiments, another ingenious innuendo. The film is full of mockery, satire and dark humor everywhere.
The determination of the little boy to find a dog in a thousand miles still moved me very much. The dogs who have been with him all the time are also very interesting. Their names have noble meanings, but something strange happened again. Their leader is a stray dog, just because the chief is the strongest. Every time I encounter a dispute over opinions, it is a "democratic" vote. The final vote was not finished but they almost killed them in the garbage disposal plant (I really thought the dogs were crushed at that moment), this episode made me particularly fond of Lego The double-sided person has a sense of sight, and you have to ask the coin for everything. In the end, the coin has not fallen and crashed first. In the end, the leader led the boy to find Xiaolin Diandian, and when I watched it, I also wondered whether the leader would be Xiaolin Diandian, and the result was always inseparable. But I still don't understand what that strange whistle means, it feels like the most heartwarming and moving part of the whole movie.
Xiaolin's loyalty and conflicts with his family also reflect the conflicts of some people in real life to a certain extent. The reason why I say this animated film is very symbolic is because none of the characters in it are too representative. Dictatorial mayors, innocent poisoned scientists (intellectuals who oppose tyranny), American students who dare to resist, hackers who have been undercover for a long time to reverse the situation, and dogs who are treated differently before they end up on the Island of Dogs. A lot of the plot is incredible and makes people feel absurd. Many shots are particularly visually striking, such as temporary glass waste houses, silhouettes of dogs talking, etc. Among them, the most impressive part is the sushi part, which perfectly shows Japanese food culture and is cruel and violent.
In the end the dog lovers won, but Atari is also a stubborn man, so will the new regime go to the other extreme? Really intriguing.
