Lately, I keep seeing that searching has booked titles like Best Mystery Movie 2018 on my social media, but, sorry, as a Mystery Movie, I find it pretty average. However, it may be a successful family film, warm but sharp.
The story tells the story of a Korean family living in Northern California. His mother died of cancer. His father, David Kim, grew up alone with his daughter. He thought he knew his daughter (Margot) very well. However, one day, the daughter disappeared mysteriously without leaving any clues. During the process of searching for the daughter, the father gradually discovered through his daughter's social media that the proud girl had become "unfamiliar"...
/////Spoiler alert ahead /////
The story begins with a third-party operating a computer and reviews the family history of the Kim family. A conscientious and responsible father, a beautiful and gentle mother, a lovely and smart child, even if they had suffered severe damage from cancer, the family joined hands to fight against the disease and finally succeeded, a happy family. Until my mother's cancer recurred, deteriorated, and passed away...
"I KNOW HER"
The father grew up alone with his 13-year-old daughter. The father loved his daughter very much. Sweetheart often talked about it and was proud of her until social media broke the father's "conceit".

As for the suspense I don't think it works:
The whole story unfolds gradually as the father searches for his daughter. 16-year-old flower girl, mysterious disappearance, bereaved family, the other side of the girl under social media, the drug-addicted uncle... As a suspenseful movie, the first half of the movie is covered with gimmicks, successfully grabbing the audience's attention force.
However , as a suspense movie, I think its suspense stalks are not exciting and detailed enough. For example, the father's face recognition technology is comparable to AI, and everyone's private number must be found in every search and it is accurate...
The camera has been given to the murderer many times, and it is easy for viewers with a little basic viewing experience to guess who the murderer is in the end. For me, knowing who the murderer is and my viewing experience has reduced the general pleasure. It's like a math test, pushing the process with the answers, and even if you get a full score in the end, you don't feel how good you are.
