The most beautiful Fantastic, but the shape of home

The movie recommended by the professor, I hope I can find something to believe in the messy emotions. Because I have never been satisfied with the small tastes of fantasy themes, I still took a look at the introduction and film reviews. It is said that it is probably a story about three men in a woman's life, almost about eccentricity, growth, friendship and fate.

After watching it, I have a feeling of being overwhelmed. The title of the film is the beautiful fantastic, but the film does not show too many fantasy elements; in the first ten minutes, the heroine Bella is emphasized as a "wonderful flower in the weird world" - the same is true for the neighbor Mr. Alfie, but the wonderful people seem to have only had a short confrontation. , they learned the ability to communicate emotionally from each other; while the garden, imagined should be the existence of the soul of the story, but the director did not fully show her appearance and spirituality.

The focus of the story is, of course, human relationships: a woman and three men—on the surface, friendship and love, but when you experience it in detail, it is more like a family, a story that takes place as her daughter grows up.

Mr. Alfie is the owner of the whole house and a master of gardening. He has all the resources and experience that can relieve Bella of her survival dilemma. However, she hides her identity and observes secretly, and uses seemingly ruthless persecution, in fact, there is no profound way, so that she can overcome her fear and vulnerability step by step, build her own garden with her own hands, and harvest love. There is nothing more gratifying for an elderly person who is dying soon than watching a child grow and become independent. In the second half of the film, Alfie tells Bella her story in her garden and leaves the house to her after her death. These selfless cares and gifts are almost everything a loving father can do for his daughter.

Vernon is clearly playing a mother-like role. Because of Alfie's quill and Bella's kindness, he accidentally became Bella's nanny (but the salary was still paid by his former employer, Alfie, which was a foreshadowing of the film, which once made me wonder if Alfie arranged it on purpose). He not only takes care of Bella's diet and daily life, but also often fights against Alfie on her side, making the relationship between the three of them quite interesting. So although Bella and Alfie are the main characters of the plot, Vernon is essential. Vernon raises a pair of twin daughters alone, and is careful to bear the humiliation and burden of bringing them up, which seems to imply his identity as a maternal role.

Bella is an abandoned orphan with all the oddities and vulnerabilities that come with lack of shelter. Before she can find true love and walk out of the house, she must first complete self-growth - overcome innate fears, financial difficulties, and the confusion of her first love. It was Alfie and Vernon who helped her do it all. When boyfriend Billy came to Bella to try to clear up the misunderstanding, Alfie and Vernon stood in front of the lad to interrogate him, Billy thought they were "Dad and Grandpa". Alfie said I'm not a grandpa, yes, they are not. They are like fathers and mothers, accompanying their daughters to grow up, so that this unfortunate and lucky child finally feels the warmth of the family. It's all amazing, and it makes sense. Because I can imagine the best blessing in this world is the shape of home.

This Beautiful Fantastic quotes

  • Bella Brown: Luna couldn't always fly, you know. Well, long ago, before the world was round, Luna and the rest of her species inhabited a... remote forest. They had... tiny little wings but were flightless. They foraged around on the forest floor and... kept themselves very much to themselves. Luna lost her parents at a very early age. They were taken from Luna... just like that. No explanation. Barely out of the nest, she was too young to know anything. She was such a worrier. Only coming out for food briefly when all the other animals had gone to sleep and the... the forest floor was bathed in moonlight. She was such a scrawny little thing. A loner. Well, life was passing by until one day Luna saw a kindly traveler holding a thing of... great wonder and beauty and... and... And that's it... for now.

Bella Brown: Mesmerized, Luna couldn't help but think about the peony. Luna asked the traveler where he got the beautiful flower. "There are many," the traveler said. "From the top of the mountain, you can see thousands... a sea of petals that will make your heart sing, for it's a beautiful sight." "But how will I get to the top of the mountain? I can't fly and I only come out at night." But the traveler had heard this before. "You seek the rarest flower from the top of the tallest mountain in the world. If you want to see them enough, you will." Luna was scared and excited, in equal measure. "I think I will find my mother and father there." The traveler smiled. "You have much to learn, child. Are you sure you want to continue on this perilous quest?"

Bella Brown: But Luna knew that whatever obstacle stood in her way, her quest could not fail. She had been greatly inspired by the words of the wonderful traveller. He would stand by her.

Bella Brown: Then, one night, alone in the forest, Luna resolved to find the magic flowers herself, even if it meant confronting terrifying demons. She had nothing left to lose.

Bella Brown: And as Luna drank in the view, she was filled with something quite magical. In the distance she could see the southern shore of the Caspian Sea, which isn't a sea at all but actually the biggest lake in the world. Luna thanked the traveler. "Oh, it's nothing. You haven't done the hard part yet." "Really?" said Luna. "Now, you must believe," said the traveler. And he pushed Luna off the mountain. Luna screamed to the traveler, "Why did you do that? I can't fly." "Says who?" he replied. And the wind lifted Luna off the mountain and she soared. "Can you see them now?" yelled the traveler. "Yes," said Luna, gliding through the air with the wind whistling between her wings. "I can see thousands of them." And for the first time in a hundred years, the traveler allowed himself a smile.

  • Bella Brown: You know, I believed those things you said.

Alfie Stephenson: Why would you say that?

Bella Brown: Vernon told me how many times he's heard the exact same stories. Shame on you.

Alfie Stephenson: You should doubt only a man who changes his story. I only repeat myself in the vague hope that one day somebody will actually hear me.
