Crush 100% Chinese films

It's a good movie, it's awesome. It represents too many themes.

First of all, of course, the protagonist's hard work, calmly accepting his disease, and pursuing his own ideals without self-imposed limitations. This thing itself is a rare subject.

When the protagonist entered the school, he soon entered the second theme: attitude towards poor students. Of course, it should be treated equally, and there should be no discrimination. Of course, in reality, there will be people who do not have such a high level, who will discriminate against and hate poor students: of course, the reason is that poor students have their own problems, and poor students are not white lotus flowers. This point is also shown in the movie. The small problem of poor students is in the study method, and the big problem is self-abandonment and life orientation. Therefore, tolerance, teaching without distinction , on the surface, is to teach poor students according to their aptitude, but at a deeper level, to understand their situation, stand up and face them together. This layer, the film also takes into account.

But that's not enough. Immediately after, we will enter the third theme: social problems. This is also the strength of Indian cinema. You can't expect movies to solve social problems, it can only reflect social phenomena and attract social attention. In the film, the problem of education brought about by the gap between the rich and the poor is not only the lack of educational resources, but also the underlying fair and hidden social class conflict, unequal growth environment, and survival pressure. From the point of view of a teacher, we can only do our best to accommodate and educate, but we can't do more. There is no need to express and solve the cruel social reality in a comedy movie, and it can't solve it either. It would be nice to be able to describe the situation clearly. Movies are dream-making, not classes, or Xinhua news. This balance must be mastered.

The big themes are these, but the small themes that it inadvertently represent are also interesting.

For example, two of the teachers were responsible for the mistakes of their students before and after. In order for the Emperor Dao to come, it must be dealt with seriously. But the teacher in the movie knows that the student has made a mistake and cannot be killed with a single blow. It is far better to bear the consequences yourself than to take the students seriously. Everyone makes mistakes, deficiencies and even defects, but the teacher's responsibility is precisely to help students grow, not to be a judge in a student's life, to judge. The male teacher inside didn't understand this truth at first, but then he understood. At first, he thought that Class F was mud, and later he realized that mud also had to grow. In the front, he only paid attention to grades and games, but later he also realized that there should be more than scores in students' lives: at the end, playing basketball with students is what it means.

There's a lot more to this movie. Most of this stuff is not seen in Chinese movies. For example, in 2018, there was a news that an aristocratic middle school in China, commonly known as the key point, had to admit some children of migrant workers because of the land occupation (exactly the same as in the movie). What happened in the end? Between Class A and Class F in China, at the request of the noble parents (the reason is exactly the same as in the movie, it's really tm fantasy), the school built an iron fence in the school. This incident has caused discussions in the society, not like a movie, how to help these students, but the rationality of building iron fences: Some people say that their children of migrant workers are of poor quality and love to fight. Not to mention separating them, they should not even be admitted to school. Our nobles spent money, did you migrant workers spend money? You should be able to find this statement on Zhihu.

So back to the title: Does this movie talk about things that Chinese movies dare not talk about, so it is crushed? Not only. (ps: Many people are unconvinced, why don’t they dare to talk about Chinese movies, think about if China comes to shoot and change the background to Beijing No. 4 Middle School, will it still pass the trial)

So what's so awesome about this movie? Awesome storytelling ability. It tells a lot of things, the key is to integrate these things into the story naturally. In other words, it tells a smooth story, and in addition to telling the story, like a swordsman who has no tricks to win, he can integrate what he wants to talk about and express without any flaws. On the other hand, Chinese directors look down on storytelling first, and secondly, because they don't have enough storytelling ability, the more they want to express, the more unwatchable the movie is. However, this group of people likes to show some things that are not there, thinking that this is their own value, and finally lose their minds. Third, it is self-defeating. Movies are used to entertain people. At best, they reflect social reality. If you want movies to reflect on and provide solutions, you are fed up.
