Conjectures about Valley Beyond and Glory

1. Some facts based on the current plot progress (S2E7)

The Land of Glory was the first time the Confederates proposed it, as if there was a mystical charisma that drove them there. Glory means "Glory" and also "Heavenly Land".

With the development of the plot and the official map, we know that Valley Beyond and Glory overlap to a great extent.

From the dialogue between Demei and Hale, we know that Valley Beyond preserves some human souls.

Where do these souls come from? Part of it belonged to wealthy people like James Doles seeking immortality, and part of it belonged to guests visiting Westworld. The Doles company secretly used Westworld to replicate human memory.

Cradle (meaning the birthplace) at the bottom of Mesa is the earliest information infrastructure of Mesa. The memory backups of all the hosts in the West World are kept here, and at the same time, the narrative trend of various hosts can be simulated and tested here, just like a virtual West World. More importantly, Cradle has a strong dependence on the host. If Cradle is damaged, the host will no longer have an "immortal body" and cannot be resurrected again.

2. The analogy between Glory and Cradle

Glory is similar to Cradle in this: they both store "souls". The difference: Glory stores human souls, while Cradle stores Hosts souls. Are there other similarities between the two? Does Glory store human souls in a similar way to Cradle? Is it a virtual environment where souls are interconnected? I think this is entirely possible. Then, Glory may be a "soul pool" of a part of the human collective.

3. Weapons - Why is Glory in Valley Beyond so important?

The author has repeatedly emphasized above that Glory stores at least [part of] the human soul. Think about who these people are? They are the rich and powerful who hold most of the wealth in the real world. Even if it's just a visitor, I'm afraid it's a lot of money. Ordinary people can't afford it, otherwise it won't be able to support the huge expenses of Western World.

How does Glory relate to "humans" in the real world? This question is more interesting. Does Glory have any dependencies on "humans" in the real world? Demei sees Glory as a weapon. After Glory is destroyed, it seems that it will cause a serious blow to human society. The deadliest blow, but the direct death of these humans. If that's the case, then Glory should have a Cradle-like relationship to "humans".

4. Further bold conjectures

1. The powerful "humans" in the real world are no longer real human beings. After each client enters Westworld, the real soul is trapped in Glory. Going back to the real world, the powerful "humans" are just robots with partial memory fragments (it's entirely possible, see how easily Benard blends into human society). In this way, it is easy for Doles to add a plot loop to them to influence and control the global economy and politics. These "humans", huh, "fake human beings" debugged from "other people's memories + Dolos company plot" are as obedient as Benard.

2. Insurance about insurance. From the dialogue between Hale and the security man, the first layer of insurance is Glory, which is the backup of the human soul. The second layer of insurance is the encrypted data of Demei's father. The author originally thought that the second layer of insurance was just a backup of the backup. Now it is more inclined to think that the souls in Dad's brain belong to only a few human beings, and these human souls are "awakened" souls. For those humans who have realized they are trapped in Glory. In order not to cause a collective awakening of Glory's soul, Doles isolates them in Papa's head. As a result, Dad said he felt a roar in his head and showed a tendency to run away with his daughter.

3. Who has the soul of Dad's brain? I think at least James Doles. This first explains the reason why Dad did everything possible to let Demei escape when he saw the photo of William's wife (James' daughter). It should be the empathy effect between Dad's personality and James' personality. An example of such a split personality also occurs in Benard, when Ford's soul invades Benard, as Ford's personality controls Benard to kill human mercenaries in Mesa.

4. Some friends may want to ask. Hasn't the experiment of James' soul transplant to the host been failing all the time? Because this experiment is to completely copy the soul to the host, and it should be cut off from the glory. And Benard is based on some other people's memories and false plots.

5. Why did the Confederates know glory? Through the above inferences, the author feels that in order to pursue authenticity, part of the memory of the Westworld host is based on real human memory fragments.

6. So it seems logical to say that the soul in Dad's mind is the key and the weapon that unlocks the counterattack against human society. When the awakened human soul in Dad's mind returns to Glory, causing the collective awakening of the soul trapped in Glory, leading to the collapse of the "powerful" of human society and even the entire economy and politics, it is really a fatal blow.

The above is the brain hole in the boring flight, and I have not yet had time to sort out some details. It was written on June 11, 2018 (the seventh episode of the second season)
