The policeman played by Colin Farrell is unwilling but addicted to his present, like alcohol and drugs that cannot be given up. Whether the road trooper's unself-identified homosexual setting or the killing of innocents when participating in the war is still worthy of a deeper characterization. The female detective who always has a knife left by her dead mother in her boot is also what she is now because of being raped by men and hating her father. Frank, who once wanted to cleanse himself, was once again pulled into the quagmire by the darkness of the past.
No one can escape this rotten city, this is their own choice of life.
