At the beginning of this season, the woman singer sang sadly at the bar, "There's no future, there's no past, In the present, nothing lasts, Lately someone's missing from now on", in some way, the song heralds the end. It took quite few weeks to watch season 2, and it tasted like vodka for me. Hard to keep on watching at first, but got stimulated after. Ray once said the booze tends to take the edge off, he wanted to stay angry. He is kind of this guy, always at the edge of falling apart. Drinking, taking drugs, being bad. The only reason he holds up for so long is his son, did he die peacefully? I have a problem with that. The only truth of life is life itself.
I can't say I love the ending, but it's real enough. There is no turning back, when they decided to dig out something, when they decided to join the war. Life is always dissapointing us, everything is fucking, justice will not always triumph over evil. Just look back to what happened in 2018, this is the reality.
This is a complicated story, and humanality is just as complicated as it is.
