There was a movie like this in the past. In the movie, a leader died, and his stand-in was reluctant to be a stand-in at first, but when he got into the state, he devoted himself to maintaining the organization, even sacrificing his own life. We see in this the alienation of the organization from human nature. At the same time, when the avatar was sitting in the temple, the thousands of soldiers were unable to tell the truth from the fake, and they were obedient. From this we see that the so-called leader is just a symbol.
From this film with rich connotations, we can also decipher more meanings. It is not only the precise scheduling and rich colors in the film that make it famous in history and the Palme d’Or, but also because of its ambiguity , This movie is called "Shadow Warrior", and the director is Kurosawa Akira.
Here comes the problem. For the national teacher who has been shortlisted in Cannes for several times and regards Akira Kurosawa as an idol, it seems that it is not too much to look at "Shadow" with reference to "Shadow Warrior". Let's see when the dog's blood started to be spilled.
"Shadow" can be roughly divided into three acts, the first act mainly tells the process of Ziyu training Jingzhou. In fact, in this scene, the progress of the relationship between the characters is beginning to show signs, and it is very likely to develop in a more extreme direction: Ziyu works hard, Jingzhou bears humiliation and bears humiliation and is resourceful, Xiaoai does not lose his sense, Peiliang is heartless, Qingping With his family and country in his heart, Tian Zhan was filled with righteous indignation, Lu Yan was flattering, and Yang Cang was proud of himself. It can be said that the relationship between the characters is intricate and complex, forming a trend of mountains and rains coming.
Unexpectedly, in the key second act, that is, the scene of the sneak attack on Jingzhou, the revealing of all the characters' cards made the theme of the entire film irreversibly slide to the blood of dogs. The first is Zi Yu, who used to suppress his self-esteem and try his best to steal the country; the second is Jingzhou and Xiao Ai, who used to stop at ritual and turned into a dog and a man; and then Peiliang, who turned out to be a wise man and a fool. Recover Jingzhou, cut off dissidents, kill two birds with one stone, but I didn't expect to lose my little sister.
The "character changes" of all these characters can't actually be called changes, because it's not driven by the plot, but just like that. You have to talk about suspense. The mystery of "Shadow" is revealed too quickly, unlike "Vertigo", which draws a long line and creates full suspense. You have to talk about the depth. The alienation, symbolization, and hypocrisy of organization in "Shadow Warrior" cannot be found in "Shadow". There are only five bloody characters left: "So that's how it is!"
Not to mention creating a plot where Jingzhou avenged his mother and then blackened it. This trend makes the quality of the film go directly to the court infighting TV series at 8 o'clock.
Some people may say that "Shadow" expresses profound Chinese learning such as the use of softness to overcome rigidity and the mutual growth of yin and yang. This is like John Woo's "Red Cliff" where there are straw boats borrowing arrows and wisdom to stimulate Zhou Yu, etc. You can say that "Red Cliff" praises Zhuge Liang's Wisdom, but also unable to classify "Chibi" as a classic.
In the third act, the main hall is destroyed. Basically, the means of conflict for the sake of dramatic conflict and for the change of character relationship are all over. All the clues are gathered together, and a hundred is gone. It looks neat, but unfortunately it is more than neat and lacks depth. In the end, Xiao Ai's frightened eyes were probably trying to say that the dead person was just Peiliang's shadow, but what was the meaning of this? Everyone has a shadow, everyone has two sides? Just like Tai Chi has yin and yang? Politicians are really insidious, and common people are really innocent? If this is the case, I suggest that Lu Ping, Xiao Ai, Tian Zhan, Yang Cang, Yang Ping, and Qingping don't have to die, because in fact they are just their shadows. Zhuo Jingzhou shouted, "You didn't expect it!"
Throughout the whole film, the only character that moved me was Qingping. Her last line was also what I wanted to say to the national teacher: "Give it back to you!"
Finally, the scene scheduling of the national teacher is really good, but unfortunately, it was a waste... and the empress's performance was nominated for the Golden Horse Movie Queen, I also express my confusion...
