I thought I was going to see a strange urban story, but I didn't expect it to be a modern urban fable.

1. A person who was originally free will be particularly sensitive when his freedom is restricted, but after being imprisoned, his five senses are lost, and the concept of freedom begins to blur, so in the end he thinks he can go out if he wants to, and the sand dune he is in is more important. Tell the people in the dunes about the principle of the pump, but forget what you originally said: what does this dune have to do with you, that kind of thing.

2. Insects are arbitrarily killed to make specimens, human beings are arbitrarily imprisoned as tools, and life is endlessly reincarnated. In the face of desire, all life is a beast. A well-mannered bachelor, driven by instinct, will also become a beast that rapes women in public for a chance to see the sea.

3. The male protagonist said to the widow: Are you working for the sand dunes, or are you working for your life? (The meaning of your life is work, or is work just a tool to assist your life), the widow is an ignorant insect, and the male protagonist has gradually become an insect in the sand dunes.

4. The male protagonist catches the crow and sends a letter. The widow said that the crow is very smart, but the male protagonist said that starvation will make them stupid. On the one hand, he initially entered the dunes because of hunger instinct, and on the other hand, he could not get out of the dunes because of stupidity.

5. The widow can't do without the dunes in the end, and so does the male protagonist. I think it's because they found meaning here and left the dunes, becoming aimless and disinterested. The moment an entomologist burns an insect, he loses his social personality and has his own dune personality in the dunes.

6. The soundtrack is very exciting and classic. Edict Kawara Hiroshi seems to have this kind of soundtrack in many movies. It is obviously a drama, but there is a trace of horror and urgency. The erotic part watched with a dry mouth, wiped clean and had sex, but drowned in the sand.

Emissary Kawara Hiroshi + Abe Public House + Takemitsu Toru. The existential philosophy of Camus' "The Myth of Sisyphus"; the sexual metaphor lens, the textured picture of touching the skin, reminds me of Resnais' "Hiroshima Love"; the crowd watching the erotic palace pictures under the soundtrack of the masked man playing drums is simply gripping——" Who cares? We're living like animals anyway!" As expected of a director influenced by Buñuel who also studied oil painting and flower arrangement, the film is psychedelic, and the black and white photography is really good, especially the nude scenes.

    Woman: This is my home.

Entomologist Niki Jumpei: Then demand your rights.

  • Woman: There's nothing for me to do on the outside.

Entomologist Niki Jumpei: You could walk around.

    Woman: Walk around?

Entomologist Niki Jumpei: Yes! It's great to walk around freely!

Woman: Isn't it exhausting, just walking around aimlessly?
