When you see the title of the movie, the first impression is that people have no desire to watch it. But when I saw Uncle Mi's name, I had the urge to read it again. Uncle Mi played a gangster this time with a character similar to Wei Xiaobao. The story takes place during the East India Company's rule of India. In order to capture the rebel leader Azad, the East India Company found the gangster Frankie to act as an undercover agent. During the period of undercover, the gangster repeatedly acted as a double agent for their own interests. In the end, justice defeated evil. With the help of Frankie, Azad smashed the rule of the East India Company in one fell swoop, and the Indian people successfully fought in self-defense.
In this film, I seem to see Uncle Mi in Sanbao again, the bad yuppie character, and I also seem to see Wei Xiaobao's double-edged swords, both sides. It's more like seeing Captain Jack in Pirates of the Caribbean, which is unpredictable, both good and evil. And the leader of Azad is more like Captain Barbossa, especially during the naval battle, the expression and the sense of picture are even stronger. And that eagle is more like a tribute to Captain Barbossa's pet monkey.
Before writing this article, I read a lot of controversy about the movie online. Some say good, some say bad. All I can say is that this movie is worth the hours you go to the movie theater, no matter how well-made the pictures are, and the fight scenes are shot at Hollywood level. Some of the bad ones may be because the expectations for Uncle Mi are too high. This movie Uncle Mi does not surpass his previous movies, such as Wrestling Dad, Mysterious Superstar. It can only be said that the performance is in its own right, not to the point of being bad.
Another reason may be a bit of aesthetic fatigue. Indian movies, especially Uncle Mi's movies, give the impression of being funny and dancing. In this play, the plot reversal is too fast, and the number of times is too frequent. If it is presented in a movie, it may be more exaggerated, the foreshadowing is not enough, and the audience is easy to quit the play.
In the film, I remember two sentences. Leader Azad said, I am someone who is easy to trust. Frankie said, I am a person who is easy to deceive. Azad still trusts Frankie after Frankie chooses to betray him, and makes him a minister to protect the king's daughter. Choose to sacrifice your own life. It was Azad's national integrity that moved gangster Frankie, so he decided to resist this responsibility. So sometimes, choosing more trust can make this originally sinful world even a little bit better.
