Some thoughts after reading "Relative Universe"

After watching "Relative Universe" two days ago, I feel like I haven't watched a sci-fi drama for a long time. Although there are not many sci-fi elements in this drama, because of the setting, it can basically be classified as sci-fi. field of slices.

In terms of the plot, we can't simply say good or bad at this stage. The capacity of one season only defines the world view, and many truths have not yet surfaced. For me, a drama with a lot of clues like this has to be watched before I can judge whether it is good or not. But judging from the plot that has been released so far, I personally think it is worth looking forward to. It's just that apart from the concept of dual universes, I can hardly see the taste of sci-fi, so if someone is looking at the label of sci-fi, they may be disappointed.

This drama seems to be more and more trending towards a political thriller now, and the setting of the concept of parallel universe seems to just provide a background and gimmick for each other to compete with each other.

But then again, the idea of parallel universes is also wrong. In fact, it splits into two universes in a certain year, just like cells replicate themselves. The two universes seem to be exactly the same, but under a certain opportunity, they take completely different paths. This so-called opportunity is a different choice for individuals, and it is a big outbreak of plague for the earth. So one suffered heavy losses and stopped moving forward, while the other was safe and sound, and the seeds of hatred were planted. The illusion of peace between these two worlds is as fragile as a thin film. The two sides carefully maintain a delicate balance, but the water under the ice surface begins to flow, and the speed is getting faster and faster. There is no doubt that by the end of the first season of the show, the ice surface has already cracked, and then it is bound to tear apart and even capsize underwater.

In such a peculiar environment, the similar and different personalities and attitudes that people show in the two worlds are particularly interesting. They obviously have the same growth environment and personality characteristics, but because of different choices made at a certain juncture And embarked on a completely opposite life journey. This seems to be an answer, responding to a question that countless people have thought about for thousands of years, if I did this, would my life be completely different, just like another version of the "butterfly effect". Being able to visualize this completely different fate on the screen is obviously something the audience likes to see, and this is also a major point of the show.

After watching the entire first season, it is obvious that the screenwriter has played a big game of chess, and I am naturally very interested in chasing it. Although I don't know how the plot will go, according to the title, I feel that the two universes in the play should merge into one.

ps, this may be the first American drama I've seen with a Go outfit B.
