Farewell My Concubine is the most heartwarming movie I've ever seen. Every move of the characters, every gesture and gesture, is full of the style of that era, and melancholy and sentimentality flow slowly under the exquisite costumes. Chen Kaige, who knows the best opera among the fifth generation directors, has skillfully outlined the traditional Chinese atmosphere of the film. Love in a sensitive period embraces both the times and the individuality. A love from the beginning to the end, a love without regrets. There is no distinction between people's dramas, people's dramas are like dreams, and Dieyi's dream has lasted most of his life. The human world is nothing but a face that has been wiped with powder. Lonely fragrant butterfly clothes, peerless elegance. Apart from the Palme d'Or in Cannes, the town couldn't think of any award worthy of "Farewell My Concubine"; except for Leslie Cheung, the town couldn't think of who would be the best candidate to play Cheng Dieyi.
