If I was watching this movie in the 1970s, it's not really that good, there's nothing new about it except for the male lead and the story setting.
It's time and accidents that give this movie a strange feeling, a movie from 40 years ago is about going back 70 years in time, the movie is about the passing and the good, the comments in the sound track of this movie under youtube are amazing Moving:
Attached is a photo of Christophe with his wife, who died of lung cancer a year later after Christophe died in 2004. Fate is irresistible, maybe what they saw before they died was the most beautiful appearance of each other.
