Regardless of whether you are a good sci-fi film or not, a good commercial film itself deserves an applause

Is "The Wandering Earth" good? looks great! Then don't you have to?

1. You have to make a good commercial film first, and then talk about a good sci-fi film

I don't know why the unqualified voice of "Wandering Earth" has appeared these days.

"Not a qualified sci-fi film!" Ah, bah! Has this kind of voice been heard less frequently over the years?

Not a real two-dimensional!

Not real hip hop!

Not really old fashioned!

Not real electronica!

Is not the real one……

Why do you play too much? To evaluate whether something is good or not, you don’t first look at whether the work itself has artistic vitality and appeal, whether it has mass communication value, or whether it is good-looking or not. Conform to the rules? Can't you get the fun of scrutinizing the minutiae of this thing?

Do you really love this thing, or do you want to die with it? Do you want the world to experience the beauty of the first line book "Orchid Pavilion Collection" together, or do you want to bring it to your funeral?

I saw a lot of bad reviews before watching the movie, because there is a problem with the sci-fi view of the movie! For example, the rationality of the rescue plan, the rules of the world's operation, the lack of humanitarian logic, and so on. But after watching it, I think all of them can be ignored, especially for the first domestically produced interstellar-themed sci-fi film.

The reason is very simple: as a commercial film, the word "Wandering Earth" is good! Look! To be more complicated, people have a vigorous vitality!

Especially for a sci-fi film, which is an extremely money-burning genre, the pioneering work must first be a good-looking, blockbuster commercial film, and then a good sci-fi film. If "The Wandering Earth" really became "Blade Runner" I would cry. Because this is not only the progress of domestic science fiction films, but it shows that we are further away from our own "Blade Runner", "Star Wars", "The Matrix" and "Interstellar".

If you can't plant a strong tree, there will be no flowers and no fruit. As the first domestically produced A-level sci-fi film, the first mission of "The Wandering Earth" is to return to the original. The second task, look good. The third task, sci-fi imagination. All three tasks were overdone.

Then discussing it now is not scientific enough, not ethical enough, not enough... What about the blind man touching the elephant? Confused or pretending to be confused?

It's not that domestic films are required to be downgraded, but at this point in time, for the genre of sci-fi films, making "The Wandering Earth" look good and let this genre develop is of overriding importance. What's more, the film is obviously really enjoyable and really good-looking. Audiences must be willing to go to the cinema for sci-fi movies, so that this genre can obtain resources to shoot in depth, and shoot for ethical exploration and more watertight sci-fi settings. Science fiction movies are not like low-investment dramas that can be high on a small scale: out of the circle, no matter how perfect your genre is, you will die.

After I left the movie theater and the rumbling effects were gone, I began to think about some rationality issues. For example, it has been more than ten years since the earth's surface became extremely low, and photosynthesis has stopped for more than ten years. In the past ten years, the earth has consumed so many thrusters, and it has to provide 3.5 billion people with daily activities. The oxygen in the atmosphere is only sold but not produced. Is there enough oxygen to ignite Jupiter?

After thinking about it for a while, I gave up. Making a movie is not about writing a thesis. The movies released during the Spring Festival must be popular art. The best of both worlds is appealing and rigorous, but if you choose one of the two, I will definitely choose appealing. What's more, they've already made movies and they've all dreamed up. Now, when will they wait in their imaginations?

I have seen a story before, let people in 1819 make science fiction films, and imagine people in 2019 flying over 200 years. In a normal person's mind, he would imagine people flying around in an iron box, but he may not be able to imagine such details as you need to take out the power bank during security check before taking the plane. The details of "taking out the power bank during security check" make the movie have a complete science fiction view, because it has a complete scientific system behind it, which supports the logical operation of the future world.

It makes sense at first, but think about it again, the development of science and technology is full of randomness, and nothing can be changed in the future: for example, because of accident, a major breakthrough in battery technology has been made ahead of time, and there may not be a power bank at all. This kind of thing; or the sharing technology is highly developed, and the mobile phone is like a shared bicycle to swipe your face and take it anytime, anywhere, so there is no need to have your own mobile phone, let alone bring it on the plane, and you will not be able to check the power bank.

This example means that the setting of a sci-fi movie is meaningless. In the real future world, there are countless random technological developments and accidental events that are nested and stacked together. If you think about it, there are three different possibilities. If so, let your imagination run wild! ! The story itself develops logically. Science fiction setting? The story is exciting enough, all settings can go to hell! Building a house doesn't look at the firmness of the foundation and the unreasonable design. Why are you clinging to see if the wallpaper is tasteful?

Removed this heavy psychological burden, I really can't find a reason not to like "The Wandering Earth": because the story is too wonderful and too imaginative. I believe that science fiction movies are not documentaries made by the Department of Astrophysics, but are essentially normal dramas, the products of which are deduced in the context of advanced technology. Some people may choose to scrutinize the "tech scene", but I choose "to watch the show".

For the first domestic sci-fi film I saw in the cinema, I hope that it will be simple and crude, and it will live with vitality, rather than die with exquisite details and impeccable death.

Yes, to put it vulgarly, I would rather "The Wandering Earth" be an informal but vigorous upstart, rather than a classically perfect, sullen old aristocrat.

To say that "The Wandering Earth" is not a passing science fiction film, in fact, I agree with many reasons. However, what is the importance of these reasons in the face of "beautiful shooting and making money"? Using these standards to request the third, fifth, and tenth sci-fi films, I think it's OK. But to ask for "The Wandering Earth" is to ignore the law of development of things, just want to get fruit, and don't want to plant trees.

2. Rhythm, VFX, Last Minute Rescue and Family

Change the starring face of "The Wandering Earth" to a foreigner and change the dialogue to English, and I have an 80% chance of mistaking it for a Hollywood commercial movie. It's not that the Chinese people themselves insist on the Chinese model. Hollywood's commercial filmmaking method is a formula summed up by countless geniuses who have worked hard for nearly a hundred years. It is a formula that can sell movies all over the world. To be able to shoot a visual blockbuster to this extent, I think, there is drama.

The rhythm of the movie is almost formula-level accurate, three climax scenes, rescue flint, ignite Jupiter, space station explosion, the time of appearance is very accurate, the atmosphere is in place, the audience's attention is despair, disappointment, hope, despair, disappointment, hope Constantly jumping between, no pee spots, no gasps.

I think the visual effects can only be regarded as medium. Frozen Beijing and Shanghai are even very fake. The scene where Wu Jing leaves the space station is not good, but the visual effects in the key big scene are strong, and Jupiter is too hot. . When standing on the earth and looking at Jupiter, Jupiter's strong oppression as a "nature villain" and its attachment to the earth are very successful in conveying. Another personal point is that the art effect of the whole film is very similar to the illustrations in the magazine "Science Fiction World" many years ago. It looks very friendly, and even has the illusion of a childhood dream. Twenty years ago, the group of people who read magazines, wrote articles, and drew pictures grew up and brought their long-term fantasies to the screen. This emotional score is more burning than the movie!

The film's greatest success is the urgency created by the nesting of several last-minute rescues. The 7 days that the earth entered Jupiter's orbit, the 33 hours countdown to the earth's fall into Jupiter, and the last 7 minutes of the shock wave that ignited Jupiter reaching the earth (memory may be wrong). And the rendering of these atmospheres is very successful, making the film always imminent, I want to live in such an atmosphere. A commercial film that can do this is a success.

The literary drama is not successful, but I must say that the characters of adventure movies are guides and partners in a thrilling adventure, and the character creation itself does not need to be too brilliant. Because their core mission is to take you to every "room" of the main storyline to watch the explosion, without forcing you to fully identify with the characters (of course, it is better to be as deeply rooted as the father-daughter love in Interstellar) . For example, the emotional entanglement between Xiao Lizi and Marion Cotillard in "Inception", and even the two themselves, there is not much touching and worrying, the greatest significance of its existence is to provide Inception for the plot. Motivation and providing villains for Inception quests. The same is true in "Wandering Earth". The relationship between these characters and them did not impress me. The greatest significance of their existence is to constantly exaggerate the family affection and hope of survival in the atmosphere of the "end of the world", and even those of the previous earth civilization. miss and cherish.

Isn't Han Duoduo's speech convincing enough? Isn't Liu Qi too unpleasant? I don't care! Their role in promoting the plot and rendering the atmosphere is achieved. After watching the movie, these characters did not leave any impression in my mind, but it doesn't matter at all. This doesn't affect the look of the movie at all.

How many people do you remember after watching "Jurassic World"? But it doesn't matter. Jurassic World is for watching dinosaurs. The greatest significance of the existence of the hero and heroine is to give you a sense of human immersion and to appreciate the concept of "dinosaur" more. The same is true of "The Wandering Earth", the characters are used to show the end of the world and salvation in an all-round way. I don't need these characters to be more brilliant. I am satisfied that their role in promoting the plot is achieved.

But there are still several bright spots in the literary drama. One is the driving reminder from the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission that appeared several times. When it first appeared, I thought it was absurd. The world is about to be destroyed. What traffic rules do you care about? The second time it appeared, the tears were rolling, and the driving reminder was still there, but my grandfather was already dead. When the third place appeared, I felt hope, my grandfather died, and my grandson came up, just like the fate of the earth, the long river of life, endlessly.

There is also the emphasis on "going home". Almost all the apocalyptic disaster films I have watched emphasize "escape", only "The Wandering Earth" is about "going home". Go home, go home, go home. Can you go back? But I still want to go back. All the attachments after all the environments have broken all the rules have been invalidated, isn't it just going home? The concept of "going home" is very suitable for the theme of wandering with the earth. You think the plot is unreasonable, but this is the answer to the choice of the heart. There may be a thousand kinds of feelings after the destruction of the earth, but this is what incites me.

For "The Wandering Earth", 10,000 faults can be picked out. Because it's definitely not perfect, but I think it's the kind of good-looking, imposing, and full of life. It doesn't need to be argued, it deserves a good review.

The tragic and even a hint of romance brought about by this setting itself was ruined by all kinds of unrestrained sensationalism and empty lines ★★☆

Cynics and chicken thieves make me angry, so this review decided not to give cynics one star directly. I feel that the core of sci-fi is never setting and technology. It is first of all a movie that follows the logic of movie scheduling; then it is a sense of responsibility, questioning and thinking, and the "ultimate experience". Technology is most valuable only when it fits the two, and has the most "movie value" and even "science fiction value". The rest is more or less bullshit and self-promotion.
