I struggled to watch it three times, trying to find Godard's beauty, but I failed. There really isn't much to say about this film other than that experimental machine-gun staccato cut. Some people say that moving shots, close-ups and compositions of faces, minimalist scenes, and discussions of philosophical propositions, aren't these all from Dreyer? Plus it's really boring, didactic and full of self-entertainment. The plot is thin and outrageous, and the last paragraph is simply inexplicable. Godard's story seems to be from the perspective of God, and the tragic experience of a girl is very deliberately expressed. As Bergman said, Godard's film seems to be deliberately superior to others.
The development of movies is inseparable from questioning and innovation, so why bother with these outdated things! Gundam is like a mountain, and this group of film critics didn't even dare to refute it. Even if they didn't feel it after watching it, they still had to blow it up. This is really the sadness of the movie.
