In "Hong Lingyan", the heroine danced to the point of death but couldn't control her dancing feet. It was the music, choreography, and the actors' acting and dancing that shocked me. The 1948 movie can do it, but the 2010 movie relies on special effects. It is no wonder that many people think that the current movie is not as good as the previous one.
Some people say that actors do not have the ability to dance like that, so they need half-body cover up and special effects.
But why insist on looking for actors?
The acting skills of non-actors may not be as good as professional actors, but for a specific role, non-actors are not necessarily poorer. The handling of the ending of "Hong Lingyan" is a bit bloody, but the flaws do not hide the beauty. The translation of the source film I watched was terrible, but fortunately it was in English, otherwise I wouldn't be able to understand it.
