A brief review of "The Clones"

A brief evaluation of "The Clones",

My overall impression of this movie is that it's anticlimactic, with the first half engaging and the second half unsatisfactory.

The biggest highlight of the whole film is the bridge section of "only three incubators".

The setting of this plot is a good interpretation of the contradictions and horrors in human nature.

I've always been a big fan of Keanu Reeves myself and have admired his acting since he starred in The Matrix.

In this film, his grasp of the character is as precise as ever.

Especially when "choosing which family member should be given up", the actor's tangled and painful mentality is well presented.

Unacceptable from the beginning, I hope the old iron who is engaged in cloning technology can think of a way to get another incubator;

Later, he was forced to accept the reality and decided to cast lots, but he was a bit rational and selfish to take out his wife's name first;

And then to let the old iron cast the lot instead of himself;

In the end, he had no choice but to cast lots in person. When he saw the name "Zoe" on the note, he looked very sad.

The whole process is done in one go,

Let the audience deeply realize how inhumane it is to "make decisions on behalf of God".

This has nothing to do with the level of technology we have in our hands, but an ethical issue.

After writing the highlights, write the grooves next.

Given that there are too many flaws in this film, I will only pick a few that I personally think are bigger.

1. At the beginning of the film, the first test scene was not handled well.

Here you can refer to "Living Brain Cell SOMA" Simon and Catherine in order to dive into the trench,

The scene when trying to load a pilot's consciousness into the Deep Bat.

Just imagine, when you wake up one day and find that your body has become a strangely shaped machine,

How would you react? I think 99.99% of people will crash on the spot!

That's right, the abyss bat in "Living Brain Cell SOMA" is like this.

In this movie, although the robot loaded with human consciousness has a similar reaction,

But because the robot and the real human are already very close to other machines, they already have hands, feet, nose and eyes.

So it is difficult for the audience to agree with its "collapse" response,

The audience will feel that it is looking for trouble,

It even raises such doubts: You are already dead, and now you can be "resurrected" in this way, isn't it good?

If you replace the robot with something else that doesn't look like a human, or just make a mechanical brain and put it there,

Let the audience feel uncomfortable and unacceptable, and the effect of this scene will be much better.

2. The scene of stealing the battery is too absurd.

The director should be trying to express the hero's desperate attitude to bring his family back to life, right?

But stealing batteries, and there are so many batteries, without being found, is really ridiculous.

The plot could be completely changed to:

The actor learned from the old iron mouth that during the cloning process, the incubator must not be powered off, and then hurried out the door and rushed to the store.

At this time, the store was closing, and the clerk looked like "Tomorrow, please be early",

At this time, the male protagonist first begged hard, then became furious, and finally took out all the cash on his body and exchanged the high price for the clerk to reopen the door.

Finally, he rushed into the store, picked up a generator, threw it in the trunk of the car, and walked away.

In this way, it can not only highlight the impatience of the hero, but also make the plot seem reasonable.

3. It doesn't make sense to delete the memory about Zoe.

A family member who has been with you day and night wants to delete all the memories related to her from her mind, easier said than done?

Facts have proved that even the screenwriter himself thought it was impossible, so there was a plot in which the three clones questioned the male protagonist collectively.

As a scientist and doctor with high IQ, the hero is so whimsical,

Thought to use a rag to wipe off the graffiti that Zoe drew on the dining table and to dismantle Zoe's bed,

If you remove the photo of Zoe at home, everything will be fine?

Putting aside the doubts that the family will raise, a child as old as Zoe doesn't go to school?

When the school calls and asks, how does the hero answer?

4. It takes 17 days to clone a person. This setting is very imprecise.

According to Lao Tie, no matter who is cloned, it will take 17 days. The hero's wife and two children of different ages are no exception.

If it is more than 17 days, they become old, beyond the age at which they died.

Based on this, we can speculate that clones grow much faster in incubators than humans in natural environments.

So the question is, the mother is so much older than the child, and it is also 17 days?

So, in the incubator, each clone grows at a different rate?

Shouldn't it be more reasonable that it takes 17 days to clone a mother and 9 days to clone a child, or 10 days?

5. The death of the project leader is too far-fetched.

The film implies that the project should be secretly funded by the U.S. military and that the research results will be used in military projects.

And when the project leader finally went to the actor's house to find him, he should have come prepared.

In the film, several shots of the agents with live ammunition standing by outside the hero's house are enough to illustrate this point.

But in the end, the project leader was killed by the male protagonist.

It was too far-fetched for the group of agents outside the door to watch the male protagonist start the car and take the three clone family members away.

During such operations, agents usually work closely together, guarding the various entrances and exits of the house,

And destroy the vehicles the target may use. Fundamentally eliminate the possibility of Fang escaping.

It's not a very mysterious thing.

In "The Incident of Honnoji Temple", after Akechi Mitsuhide's rebels invaded Honnoji Temple, the first target of the raid was Oda Nobunaga's stable.

I believe everyone can understand why this is done. In ancient times, horses were equivalent to cars used by modern people.

Without a horse, even if you were Bolt, you wouldn't be able to run very far.

A tactic familiar to the ancients, but not known to the agents in this movie.

6. The happy ending in the end seriously lowered the idea of the film.

I almost doubt the motives of the filmmakers.

Let the male protagonist's family reunite, and even Zoe, who had been abandoned before because of the insufficient number of incubators, came back.

This ending is set up to tell us that using human cloning technology to "resurrect" the dead is, in a sense, a good thing?

I seriously disagree.

My personal opinion is,

If human beings continue to blindly develop cloning technology, or even go against the laws of nature, try to "resurrect" the dead like the hero of the film,

In the end, it will only bring disaster to the entire human race.

The development of technology should not be an excuse for us to ignore the laws of nature and humane ethics.
