love is love

It's been weird this year, actively or passively watching a lot of books and movies about the LGBT community. Last week, I watched "The Erased Boy", the story is adapted from the novel of the same name, based on the real experience of author Garrard Conley. The story takes place in the 1950s of the last world. The male protagonist was artificially born into a traditional Baptist family. The Catholic father wanted to "correct" his son's homosexuality and sent him to a specialized therapy school for correction. Later, the male protagonist broke free and faced the real story and reconciled with his father. The whole story is very depressing. The principal of the therapy school used a lot of so-called "therapy methods" that we thought were unbelievable, self-hypnosis through so-called confessions, no physical or eye contact between the participating students, being monitored in the school, and not allowed to interact with each other. The outside world talking about school...as absurd as what we now call "electric shock therapy for internet addiction". Fortunately, the male protagonist got the help of his mother in the end and escaped smoothly. When the final credits show that the show is based on a true story, and the original author, Garrard Conley, is now happily living in New York with her boyfriend, I'm a big sigh of relief, thank goodness. The male protagonist Lucas's performance is very delicate, and his instant explosiveness is also very good. Many emotional bursts are very good. Nicole Kidman plays the male lead's mother, who is a little cowardly but also brave and eager to love her son. In the end, she rescued the male lead from school and violently rages on the principal, which is particularly handsome and fearless. As a fan of Poke Ye, I can only say that he has too few scenes, but he has a good grasp of the small details. When he "confessed" his "sin" in front of all the students, the trembling hand holding the manuscript was distressing. Each of us will have biases and limitations in our understanding and views, but I still hope that we can look at the world with a tolerant and understanding heart. It's too difficult for us to change other people's thoughts. As long as it has nothing to do with ourselves, people can turn a blind eye. When it comes to conflicts of interest, it is too easy for people to draw swords against each other. I have given up saying to others that "We are created equal", "Love is just love, it has nothing to do with others". All I can do is to be on my own. I hope that when I face minorities, some of them are not flukes. , more of an attempt to understand and support. I also hope that when I become a minority, I can get support, that's all. The joys and sorrows of the world are inseparable, and it is difficult to understand and support them as best as possible.
