Watching this movie can't let the title put expectations on the point of a monster movie or a horror movie, because it's actually a romance movie, with a view on life, but the two are placed in a monster scene, I think It's an amazing combination.
The last ending I think is quite interesting: monsters don't seem to actively attack humans, so the previous disaster is more like the defense of monsters? And the two protagonists, in the scene of leaving the monster, will live their unhappy lives instead. Which one does more damage?
